I've tried looking down the inside of the tube but there are cross bits in there so you can only see halfway down. If you feel...

    Not a show stopper thanks to this stuff but unless I can get the spin can out I'm not sure how to get this sorted. Anyone had any experience of getting the tube out and the can out? Any other suggestions much appreciated. Cheers S

    I then turned my attention to the underside in the hope that there might be a coupling between the motor and spin shaft. I loosened the motor and discovered that not only had the seal split, but the can has a split in it too - there was quite a bit of loose corrosion in the outer can from the outset

    Try as I might, I couldn't find anything to get a good grip on this so out came the angle grinder ........ and an adjustable spanner was shortened - the theory behind that a few taps with a hammer would loosen it off. However no amount of tapping has so far worked so I'm a bit stumped.
