NORGE 20 Pound Washer found in Austin!!!

Austin...congratulations!! You are gonna love that noisy beast. BTW is it a Fedders Norge? Yes these machines are very well built,I miss the one we had, powerful agitation and low water level is actually low on these machines,as opposed to something from the WP family of machines. Enjoy!!! Pat

Whoever thought a DD machine would be this fun?

saturday laundry I usually wash on saturday mornings. The DA agitator washes good but is low on the drama scale. I think a one piece neeeds to be installed to get at least some swishing and sloshing sounds from the tub.(yes the men in white coats are waiting..LOL) Pat

Whoever thought a DD machine would be this fun?

surgilator Hi Austin, yeah the lint filter surgilator has 5 thin flexible vanes on the skirt,i don't know how much better the turnover would be,...but as you said it works better in the super capacity models than the 24" units. Those dd surgilators are about the best for washday drama as one...

    Cruel-Action Agitator

The Dual Action agi. was first offered in 1976 i believe.I believe the super roto swirl was around in the late 70's maybe early 80's at most, not sure.I'm sure some KM aficionado could tell us.

    Whirlpool Imperial Pic-of-Day

Imperial styling I liked the styling of the WP Imperial model of 55 and 56.This must be the first year WP squared off the cabinets. Does anybody have any photos of what the 58 and 59 WP washer line look like? Or at least the Imperial models? I would truly appreciate it. Thanks. Pat

    Frigidaire dishwashers

As i was walking through "The Great Indoors" yesterday,I was checking out many of the appliances and wanted to see the new Frigidaire dw's.I like the new look of the three way spray arm under the bottom rack.Looks like it would do a great job. I was wondering why Frigidaire has not released a...

    AEG Washers and Dryers

I like em! The more i see the choices of front loaders here in the states, the more i am liking them. You have a very nice set. This is to Louis,..who by reading his posts is a very big Miele fan.I went to one of our appliance stores today to see what new washers might be out. Well, let me say i...

    Tappan and O'Keefe and Merritt

Such a shame It is sad that a company like Tappan is no longer a big name in cooking. It seems all these aquisitions do nothing but ruin the reputations of once trusted names in appliances. I had been looking to replace our stove several months back,....but after i went out to see what offerings...

Whoever thought a DD machine would be this fun?

Lint Filter surgilator This looks like the surgilator with the lint filter in the barrel. The only problem i experienced with these agitators, was that after extended use,the barrel would not stay snapped firmly in place. The barrel had to be screwed down to stay in place.

    Tappan and O'Keefe and Merritt

Thanks for the response Glen.It is hard to keep track of who did what for who and who bought out who. I believe Tappan was bought out by WCI in the late 70's,but didn't actually start producing their ranges until 1987.I probably have that all wrong,I am just going by memory from an old consumer...

    Tappan and O'Keefe and Merritt

Does anyone out there know when the relationship between Tappan and O'Keefe and Merritt began? Vintage stoves of the 50's from these two companies look very similar. I remember reading "Consumers Digest" in the late 80's and there was a chart of who made what for who in the appliance industry...

Whirlpool was known as the 1900 corp before they changed the name to Wp in 1950 i believe.Whirlpool was the model name of their washers.

    Beautiful sight at Best Buy

I like KM fl machines from a styling point of view beeter than the WP ones.Competition is good.It has brought about some interesting designs from our domestic manufacturers in the last several years. It is scary to think that one day fl washers may be all we have to choose from.
