    Beautiful sight at Best Buy

What's wrong with LG? Actualluy Jason i do like LG,and I agree, they are better looking than the WP fl's. I just have a bad feeling that the toploader is going to become a thing of the past sooner than imagined.DOE restrictions concerning water and energy is a joke. They should get out of our...

DD washers and a bad rap

I had posted about maybe one day getting a front loader.Who knows, with the DOE imposing restrictions about water use,fl's may be the only option one day.I wish they would get out of our laundry rooms Pat

    Beautiful sight at Best Buy

No Jason, they do look like nice machines,I have no idea about how reliable they are.It really isn't nothing personal. Seeing how there are more and more front loaders being offered i feel the toploaders days are definitely numbered. That is something i would hate to see.

    Kenmore Belt Drive? Set

I don't think it should really be amazing. These DD have proven themselves to be real workhorses. With our old WP, the timer dial failed and the bottom of the cabinet rusted out.The mechanism was still rock solid.

DD washers and a bad rap

Just sharing a thought about doing laundry.I normally wash on saturday mornings.Even though my KM 90 model is not a belt drive, i like to watch it go through it's paces. With the ultra rinse it reminds me of the old bd machines. The slower speed on one of these washers rolls over fine(depends on...

    Kenmore Belt Drive? Set

DD washers Having experienced a DD for 15 years without a major mechanical problem ever,I feel the DD deserves it's place as a future classic.Let's face it,future washer nuts will see DD as classic machines YAY!

    Kenmore Belt Drive? Set

I have to say this forum is very convenient without having to go to the sandbox.Robert thank you so much. Austin,I know you have your opinions about the dd design,as do many of us,but consider this,....WP has been at the top of the reliabilility list for over a decade now.I think with the...

Whirlpool Digital set late 80's ealry 90's?

come to think of it,Whirlpool didn't offer an electronic model when they switched to dd. I could be wrong but I think they came out with the electronic catalyst after sears did.Anyone know for sure?

    Kenmore Belt Drive? Set

DD Kenmore These are DD washers.Just looking at the tub opening gives it away.I think it is a 24" model. It also looks like there is a clothes guard or tub wring in the basket.First generation DD looks to be. Pat

    50's Maytag Set in Sunnyvale--Craigslist

    Airing Dirty Laundry

Norge washers Hi Bob (Appnut)One question about the Fedders/Norge machines. Fedders didn't change the mechanics of the machine when they put them into production did they? I mean apart from cosmetic differences, they seem to look like the late sixties Borg washers. One more question, what year...

    Airing Dirty Laundry

I remember with the Norge machine, you could see the suds between the two tubs building up.Don't ever remember a suds lock though.Very beefy washers.

    50's Maytag Set in Sunnyvale--Craigslist

Classic Maytag I think i actually like the design of these Maytags better before they redesigned in the later sixties. The way the porcelain top upsweeps into the control panel.I always liked the simplistic high quality look of Maytag machines regardless of their actual performance. They did the...

    Who made what?

Kenmore Toploaders Thanks Chad. The stack units were the only wci machines i ever saw with the Kenmore name.I believe the Whirlpool/Sears relationship is close to the century mark. My thanks to WP/KM for all the great laundry products they have given us over the years.Keep the fires burning...

    Airing Dirty Laundry

The Norge we had(Fedders)the tub would spin a couple of revolutions at the beginning of agitation until it locked into place. At the end of a cycle you would be able to turn the basket by hand until the brake locked it into place. Pat

    Norge pics

Just like Maytag wash action. Back and forth, though very powerfully.

    New Brand.

The Siemens front loaders look exactly like the bosch models i have seen in stores.

    Norge pics

Norge agitators Those agitators seemed huge. I don't remember great turnover though with large loads. The base fins seem relatively shallow given how big the tubs were. but our Norge always got the clothes clean and at the end of the day that is what really matters. Pat
