STORM WARNING!!..we are being hit hard!!!!!

Logixx: Funnel clouds in Germany?! Wow! I must say, Im very jealous of all of you that are getting rain right now or have gotten some lately. It hasn't rained here in well over a year! I grew up in the south so this desert nonsense is driving me crazy!

    homemade fabric softener?

Very interesting! I was thinking it was gonna be the same as the "miracle homemade detergent" stuff. Now that it's been pointed out to me, it makes sense, I could see using it in a pinch but don't think I would ever make my own. As far as natural hair fibers, duh! haha I never would have looked...

    homemade fabric softener?

Saw this video on youtube... a lady makes fabric softener from vinegar and hair conditioner. She says it cleans out her machine and doesn't build up in clothes but Im a bit skeptical. What do you all think? Surely hair conditioner would be just as "bad" as regular fabric softener.... right? -Andi

Why You Cannot Find P&G Mexican Detergents With Phosphates.

Im sure that most, if not all, of those who commented have no idea what using those mixtures can possibly do. I really enjoyed the comment by one woman who said that she spends about $15 a year making her detergent and by washing with it in only cold water she saved loads of cash. Or the woman...

Why You Cannot Find P&G Mexican Detergents With Phosphates.

I went back and re-read the article and noticed off the right was a link to a review of DIY laundry detergents vs. store bought. Of course the control detergent was Tide and in the end they found it cleaned better than any of the homemade detergents... but the comments are great. Just about...

Why You Cannot Find P&G Mexican Detergents With Phosphates.

Roma IN mexico has phosphates, as does foca and pinol and some of the other lesser known brands. I have a friend that makes trips to Juarez just to get his detergent because there is phosphates in it. The stuff sold here hasn't had them in years and even though I can see the border from my house...

High Shipping Costs Impacting Your Collecting

I was thinking the same thing earlier as I was perusing eBay. I found some detergent from Mexico that I wanted to try, it was a tiny bag that was less than 2 lbs. The seller wanted 15.99 for the detergent and another 10 for shipping. Absolutely ridiculous. Since I live right on the border, I...

    I need recommendations.

Id like to try the Bubble Bandit but 20 bucks for a single bag is a bit steep

    I need recommendations.

The oxiclean pacs have worked for me but I do add about 1/4 tsp of STPP to each load so I can't really say how well they would do without a boost. I live in El Paso and the water is so hard that only a few minutes after draining or wetting the sink, there is a dusty white film left behind :-/...

    Weber Grills

I have their 18 inch smokey mountain smoker that I got for free from Amazon and I absolutely love it... it's made in the US. I've been wanting on of their grills as well. What would be a good model for occasional/moderate use?

    Clorox 2 Advanced Whitening

Ah, I see. Thanks! I've been using STPP for a while now, but Im not really sure if I've noticed any difference in my whites. Perhaps Im not using enough or too much, who knows. I've been using the STPP together with Oxiclean, about 2 Tbsp of each for a large load.

Sears "burning money" & closing stores

It's sad. Growing up in a small town in Arkansas, Sears was where everyone went to get their appliances, tools, yard equipment... My family was very loyal to the Kenmore brand. The last time I was in a Sears was about 4 years ago and even then it looked totally third world... dirty, displays...

    Clorox 2 Advanced Whitening

Hello all, Been reading this site for a bit but this is the first time that I've posted. I recently bought a bottle of Clorox 2 Advanced Whitening and was wondering if anyone else had used it. It seems to be fairly new and according to the bottle, uses hydrogen peroxide. Is this pretty much the...
