Just wondered if anyone out there in 'Washerland' (sounds like the name of a washing machine theme park) makes their own laundry detergent. I do using the powdered recipe found here: http://www.thefrugalshopper.com/articles/detergent.shtml. Just wondering.....

I remember my grandmother's Maytag 50s or 60s washer having a suds saver feature. I don't know how common this was and if such a thing is still made on any modern machines. Any help would be appreciated.
