Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

And you just KNOW it's gonna be a disaster of mess in there soon.... LOL    Maybe actually having room and hopefully organized space for tools and parts, I'll be inclined to be better organized... But I know me.

Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

The bulk of the interior work took place while we were away.  When we got back from Brazil, the shop was complete!

Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

Next, the interior was closed up.  Wiring was put in - and I could tell Reddi-Kilowatt a thing or two about living better electrically... LOL   There are dedicated circuts for testing ranges and dryers, as well as for a space heater AND an air-conditioner.

Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

Ever since I've been messing around with vintage appliances, I seem to prove the rule that nature abhors a vacuum... If there's space in the garage or house, I manage to fill it with some vintage appliance, hi-fi console, tv set, etc etc etc  When I'd tear into a machine, it was usually in the...

    Super Salton power cord

I may have something that would fit this.  I'm still on hiatus in Brazil, returning to Canada next week.  I should be down at the house in Ogden where my parts and supplies are all stored after April 27th, though...  I'll have a look for you when I get back.

Paging Pierreandreply4 - FREE Inglis washer and dryer - Richmond, QC

Zut alors!!    I have tried to give stuff away and it's wound up going to the scrappers.  AND I had to pay THEM to haul things away.   I guess living in the middle of nowhere doesn't help!

Paging Pierreandreply4 - FREE Inglis washer and dryer - Richmond, QC

FREE - Ad text is in French but the machines are working and to be picked up by April 21st.    I know fellow Québecois collector, Pierre-André, had been wondering about how likely it would be to find a set like this.  Well here they are!!!

    P.O.D. 3-20-2024 - DuoMatic

Cold water for drying in a Duomatic The Duomatic, like a number of electric washer-dryer combos, used flowing cold water to condense the hot, steamy air from the drying clothes and wash it down the drain.   The Bendix and Philco-Bendix combos used a blower to also move air around during the...

    P.O.D. 03.18.2024

Lawrence, the picture isn't perfect, but the cutouts for the water level and wash temperature are indeed red, thanks to tinted plastic.

    1950-Something Frigidaire Top Load Washer

Well, sonofagun.... I sent that brand new agitator top and cap to the former owner of this washer years ago.   He was lurker here on the site for years.

    Not sure if posted before

It has been posted before BUT it's a neat-looking dryer!    For the record, it's a 1960 Frigidaire Imperial "flowing heat" dryer.  Price is coming down a bit...

Designing a 1940s laundry space, hook ups etc

separate circuit for each dryer Almost... LOL   I ran 3 dedicated 240v outlets BUT I also found an extension cord made by Bosch for connecting a 240v washer to the same outlet.   It's now used to feed the Philco-Bendix combo and one of the Frigidaire Filtrators that were acquired after the...

Frigidaire Range with control tower clock

Did it look like this?  The Frigidaire 'compact 30' slip-in range.    They were made throughout the 1960s.  If it's got the self-cleaning oven, it was made after 1966.

MS Is Killing Off Mail & Calendar - It's Redesigned Outlook Or Nothing

Yeah.... I find Outlook is slower than molasses going uphill on a cold January morning in Québec and the tool to import data from MS Calendar (silly stuff but ALL the birthdays for members of a FB group I admin was in there) is awkward and unreliable.  Yay progress... NOT!
