    Chambers Stove - Huge!

Oops, Just saw that Mikael3 posted the same Model 7961 flier that I posted - I didn't scan through all of his pictures. Sorry for the double post

    Chambers Stove - Huge!

The Thermodome, whick was lowered over a cook pot sitting on the burner, was the early version of the insulated deep well that Chambers dubbed the Thermowell on later models. The domes and the wells were basically small ovens: they were insulated just like the big ovens and you could "cook with...

    Chambers Stove - Huge!

Here is part of a flier for the Imperial line - it shows the model that I have, basically the same as the OP's model except for the overhead cabinets.

    Chambers Stove - Huge!

From what I have found, the Imperials were made from the mid to late 1930s, possibly into the early 1940s. As big as that Imperial that Mikeal3 posted is, they made one even bigger - in the 1920s I think. On the Chambers Forum we call it the Ultimate Behemoth (because another model that was...

11 secret herbs and spices revealed!

Ralph, My Mirro-matic has one of those multi pressure weights. KFC's original pressure fryers were Mirro-matic 16" pressure cookers that were modified with a higher pressure valve. They were used into the 1970s I believe.

    Coffee, Coffee, and More Coffee

I currently use a French press the most but some of the best coffee I've made was the old fashioned boil - in - the - pot - on - a - campfire (or my gas stove) method: boil the grounds in the water for 4-5 minutes and add some cold water to settle them. Really good coffee. BTW - there is a time...

11 secret herbs and spices revealed!

I've been playing with this recipe for the last week or so. Frying in a skillet as the Chicago Tribune did and using my pressure cooker - mixed results, the chicken usually gets too brown and too crisp which changes the flavor. One bite actually was dead on but the rest of that piece was too...

    Chambers Stove - Huge!

That... is a rare one indeed. I've only seen one other that had the upper cabinets. The center cabinet has a low heat burner for keeping food warm. It is basically the same model as mine but mine does not have the upper cabinets, only a shelf. Mine weighs right at 1000 lbs.

Anderson Stove -- Ever Heard Of Them?

My understanding is The Anderson Stove Company was started by a person (named Anderson) who used to work for Chambers. Chambers sued them for patent infringement and won.

    1954 Frigidaire Fridge

Gary - that is a 1954 model. Unfortunately I do not have a spare handle but keep an eye on ebay, parts come up every now and then.

    Making Coffee

I use a French press daily but, surprisingly, the best coffee I've made hands down was in the old fashioned graniteware campfire pot: pour in the water, put in the grounds, and boil. Pour some cold water down the spout to settle the grounds and enjoy. I make it on my stove but have made it over...

    Saps up! Maple Syrup anyone?

I love pure maple syrup. I can find it on ebay for around $55-60/gallon - much cheaper than the $25+ per quart at the grocery stores. The last 2 gallons I bought were from a member of one of the Chambers stove forums whose family makes their own. I usually buy 2 gallons of  maple syrup each year...

    1948 (or ’49?) Roper ‘Town & Country’

That is a 1949 like mine. If it is fully restored the price is not out of line. Shipping can be had a lot cheaper though.

Holy Cannoli! Making filling for these Italian pastries

Leave the gun, take the cannoli Thanks for posting this, I've wanted to try making cannoli for a long time. Can't wait for the video on making the cannoli shells.

    White Bread

I've been baking sour dough bread for the past two years, won't go back to store bought. If I'm lazy, the local grocery store bakes decent artisan bread. I've found that fresh-baked sour dough keeps for months in the freezer - tastes like fresh-baked when thawed. I generally make a plain...

    Cube Steak Machine

I've seen those modern ones, nice thing about them is they weigh a lot less than mine. I plan to use mine on some venison that I was given. Plus, I usually order a quarter of grass-fed beef every spring so I can use this on the tougher cuts.

    Cube Steak Machine

Has anyone ever seen one of these? I thought it was pretty neat so I bought it. Probably made in the early 1930s by the Cube Steak Machine Co. It is 14 inches wide, 21 inches long, and weighs 60 lbs.   You place a round steak on a platen under the slotted blade guide and pull the handle to run...
