Looking For A "Last Generation" Dial Neptune

My landlord has a MayNorge washer with bearings on the fritz! He would like to convert to a Neptune dial and pushbutton front loader to match the dryer which has a very similar control panel. Not the earliest models with thier moldy gasket, but the later ones that corrected that! Thanks guys!

    Dishwashing 1920's style!

Kewl, thanks for posting this. Ah, the second page shows a portable Whirlpool, which I mentioned long ago. In fact, this article was what I had picture in mind when I brought up the Whirlpool awhile ago. I haven't seen this article again for over 30 years I'd say.

Can you be SURE if it's Westinghouse?

The book was written about 1972, can't think of the dude's name, but he felt the Westie was the best built of ANY type of washer and was not quoting CU.

Texize was famous for Janitor In A Drum. They also made Grease Relief and Yes detergent with built in fabric softener.

Can you be SURE if it's Westinghouse?

Alright, how many of you read that early 70s appliance book that said best made washer regardless of price-Westinghouse front loader and best made top loader-Maytag? The author touted the Westinghouse as simplistic and efficient more than ANY other. Do you agree or disagree and why? Thanks!

    Maytag Madness

Thanks Bob,would it cost alot to repair it? They want the washer to match the still good dryer,so the dont want a new one yet.

    Maytag Madness

My friends have a Maytag model MAV6000AWW washer that developed great loudness, mostly on the spin, like a jet plane sound about a year ago, after their teens washed tennies in it? What's up with that?

    61 Whirlpool Dishwasher Maiden Wash

Dishes will gleam in the Jet Stream Congrats, and a wonderful paint job I might add! two things, there is not enough water in the tub . I had this model and it sounded like sweeping torrential waves, and did a FANTASTIC job on both racks. I was very fond of 12% phosphate Calgonite in that...

    Too much foama from ROMA!

I lifted up those chunks, they were Roma, and in separate tests confirmed it. How sad. I would rather use a phosphated powder more than anything, which wouldn't be so possible much longer anyhow. The latino store now has the non-phosphate versions and only some was left of the phosphated.

    Too much foama from ROMA!

I've even boiled the water, then added to the wash, the stuff is like cement flakes. And it wasn't old and clumpy either!

    Too much foama from ROMA!

Was I surprised! Phosphated ROMA powder does NOT fully dissolve even in hot water. I use a Maypool commercial coin op in our condo and I don't overload. I saw chunks of it in the rinse water. After much experimentation, I realize it really won't fully dissolve!Back to liquids! Besides,it's too...
