Europe phosphate regulations- all STPP out within 2016 in DW products?

Partial drain during wash I cannot remember where I read (maybe in a User's Manual) that the partial drain during the wash is caused by an increase of he internal pressure if the door is opened and then closed again while the temperature inside is high and there is a lot of steam. The increased...

My Step Mom bought me a new $$ dishwasher

@dj-gabriele «I think I'm the member that "madly loves SMEG"» And what on earth makes you think that?... :-)

A Washing Machine Factory Tests Italy's Industrial Future

@kenmoreguy89 (and sorry for the off-topic) "the new president, that BTW has not even been elected" I assume you mean the President of the Council of Ministers. If this is the case, please note that the Constitution of the Italian Republic does not state that the president has to be elected...

Consumer Reports Addresses Complaints of Staining: Tide Pods

Why should we trust you to count things? You don't have to: we have too much fun when you crash your expensive space exploring robots just because you made an error with the calculations of feet and pounds

Consumer Reports Addresses Complaints of Staining: Tide Pods

Easier in Europe "You Euros on KG and litres, figger it out for yerselves." Thank you, but in Europe we don't need to figger out anything: a litre of water weights a kilogram. And this further confirms the superiority of the International System of Units... :-)[this post was last edited...

Supreme Court Sniffs At Smelly Washers Case

What about the fabric softener? In my life I have used only 3 fabric softeners: 1) Italian store brand: no problem with the dispenser, just some waxy residue, but no mildew 2) Ecover (UK version): same as number 1) above 3) Seventh Generation Free and Clear (USA version): well... yes, mildew...

    Dettol Laundry Sanitiser

Useless 1) I agree with @hoover1100 2) You need almost an entire bottle of Dettol (instructions say 160 ml) to "sanitize" a (front-load) washing machine load, and you will have to manually add it in the rinse cycle 3) Smells horribly (ever worse, indeed) and the smell never goes away 4)...

How Do You Save a Picture From Google Street View?

A different solution In cases like this, I print the page (with the "File->Print..." command) using "Nitro PDF Creator" (it comes with "Nitro PDF Reader": www.nitropdf.com) as a printer (I set the best printing quality, which is the highest resolution). The webpage is printed on a pdf file, I...

GE Potscrubber 1200 leaving soap in cup?

And another random thought... Re-formulated detergent that dissolves worse. I have had the same issue with my previous Electrolux (AEG re-branded) dishwasher, but in that case I believe is was rather a design flaw

Upgraded Membership no ads option = Pointless?

@danemodsandy I completely agree with you that «saying that "Upgraded equals pointless" [would be] a bit uncool», but instead I read the original post as "Doesn't it seem pointless to upgrade just not to see the ads?" which does not mean that upgrading is pointless, but that it WOULD SEEM...

Upgraded Membership no ads option = Pointless?

Well... I don't know why, but it seems to me that every time the matter is mentioned, there is a sort of over-reaction. Yes, maybe the original question was not expressed in the nicest possible form, but it seemed to me a legitimate question, and sometimes the replies have not been much nicer...

Upgraded Membership no ads option = Pointless?

support powdered detergent instead! Do you mean that I should I feel guilty for using liquids? :-)

    Best new FL washer?

"Miele only get "A" ratings for cleaning" I cannot remember any washing machine rated less than "A" for cleaning, and do you really believe that cleaning ratings have anything to do with how clean your laundry will come out of the machine?

US Expat Describes The Best And Worst Things About England

"Don't understand where your coming from" From a place where the best place for personal hygiene things, including those involving water, is the bathroom (if a laundry room is not available for personal clothes hygiene) and where kitchen is the place for cooking and eating, but washing only...

Miele "Woof To Wash" dog-activated washing machine

With the due respect for disabled people... If someone is unable to turn on a washing machine, that person would hardly be able to load it, put the detergent, unload... Seems to me a very useless "invention"

INCIs - Do you care what`s in your toiletries ?

Generally, I read labels... ...and I read INCIs just because: 1) I want to know what I use 2) I don't like the thought of applying mineral oils on my skin For toilet products, I use Weleda: expensive (but there are offers online) but simple and quite effective and without synthetic fragrances...

More Random Musings About My AEG Lavamat

Emergency door opening The Italian user's manual of the "AEG ÖKO-LAVAMAT 88840 update" states that there is a "screw" beside the drain filter: turning that "screw" clockwise with a coin unlocks the door. If it works, it is not the most comfortable way but, well...

More Random Musings About My AEG Lavamat

Laundry "hostage" That's not completely correct: safety regulations in Europe require that the door cannot be opened if there a risk for the user, typically when there is high-level water (risk of flooding) or high temperature (risk of scalding) or spinning (well...). Manufacturer not only...
