What's a Speed Queen dryer?? Never heard of it.

Yep, know the feeling when I tell people at work/relatives that they should buy a Speed Queen...next is usually followed by "Speed What"? Sad. I just got word that the appliance store that we visited as a child in my hometown is shutting down after 80 years or so. I would LOVE to open an...

The Brand Spanking New 1962 GE V12 Comes Home

I've always wondered how merchandise looked back in the day when it was "new" - because even with restores, you really never get the true look back. This machine is so chrome laden, like a trophy or something, I can imagine anyone being thrilled just to look at it. No plasti-chrome here, I tihnk.

Why does the Westinghouse have an EASY agitator in the POD?

Hopefully someone can explain the history? I've always wondered why my favorite blue Westy had a ramp so similar to the EASY - and was Sears a EASY knockoff with the "rotoswirl" or whatever their ramp agitator was called?

    How to wax a washer?

So my original Speed Queen set is getting to be nearly 2 years old now. I'm noticing the finish is a bit ruff around the lip of the top where the water splashes during the spray rinse. Of course, I want to protect the finish. What's the best option - good ole car polish, or something else?

The new Buick LaCrosse - any owners?

Thanks Petek...it's funny when people look at my car for the first time - you watch them look at it, then they immediately try to find an emblem on the car to see what brand it is. I guess that's a good thing. :)
