An interesting washing machine with a fiberglass tub. I have personally never seen one of these before, but it seems to have operated like most of the solid tub models of the day.

    See-Through Lids

Robert, I would like to see you do a Lady Kenmore similar to the one you have, that has the impeller on the bottom and the rotating spray arm with the round top rack that rotates.

    2018 Speed Queen topload models

It will be very interesting to see what kind of machine Speed Queen comes up with this year.

    Sharp Hole-less washing machine

All I can say is about time! I have always thought solid tub machines were just fine for most washing. Only if you have a great deal of sediment and/or sand would there be any issue. The old Norge solid tub machines did do a terrific job of cleaning and rinsing clothes back in the 50's along...

Who Still Watches a CRT Television?

I got rid of my last one about 4 years ago. They were just too big and heavy and took up too much space. The flat screen tvs I have now go on each of the fireplace mantles and fit perfectly. They are huge in comparison to the old 37" tube tv too and have a much better picture. I was...

Definitely the day of the Kitchenaid dishwasher! They cleaned better and more consistently than any other dishwasher at the time. It did require some care with loading, so the top rack would receive spray too and they actually dried the dishes well too with forced air heated drying.

    CR Downrating Front Loaders

consumer reports Consumer reports attempted to guide in the purchase of items they tested. They could not really test the longevity of many things that were new on the market, such as automatic washers. They did test them on how well they did their job though and were pretty accurate. That...

This 1958 model Norge TOL model was my favorite and was a very fancy and handsome looking machine and set. This was probably the nicest looking set Norge ever built. The washer was the first 2 speed machine Norge made and this machine was very flexible as far as speed and temp. selections. It...

    2018 Speed Queen topload models

spin draining Upon thinking about this over and over, it really does make sense that spin draining would stir up everything and promote lots of linting on clothes. I always thought that Whirlpool/Kenmore did have a much better set up by draining all the water as the clothing settled closer to...

    2018 Speed Queen topload models

spin draining Upon thinking about this over and over, it really does make sense that spin draining would stir up everything and promote lots of linting on clothes. Whirlpool/Kenmore were actually the very first top load washer that had a true perforated tub that filled the outer tub too. I...

A mid 70's almost BOL GE set. These were pretty good machines for the era. This set was fairly plain though.

    reverse direction dryers

USA It seems as though only in the USA can you not get a good dryer that reverses direction equally. I wish someone would come up with one.

    POD 10/8/17: Universal Brand Appliances

LOL That would probably be about right too!!! Stuck in a basement and so heavy it would take several men to move! From what I understand about Universal washers, they are the same as the Apex with the bouncing basket. Those machine have to be one of the most entertaining machines ever made...

POD 10-7-17 1958 Westinghouse DRY Button Dryer

I think there were many of the early machines that suffered a short life span. Norge is another. The Norge dryers would out last all the washers they matched. The life span on many of the washers from the 50's was 5-7 years. I also think that by the time Westinghouse came out with a top load...

    Miele's factory in Bielefeld, Germany

Miele These appear to be very high quality machines. I personally have never seen anywhere here that sells them. I do think there are places that sell the vacuum cleaners here, but not the washers, dryers or dishwashers to my knowledge.

POD 10-7-17 1958 Westinghouse DRY Button Dryer

I think it just another advertising gimmick to make it sound as though Westinghouse was doing something profound to try and make their antiquated big clunky tank of a washer and dryer look good. Small wonder they finally designed a top load machine that was at least adequate in comparison to...

Is a used Maytag Neptune dryer worth $50?

combo52 LOL I LOVE that you said he has a venting issue! So many people think you're full of crap when you tell them that, but venting blockage is the cause of elements going out and slow drying more than 95% of the time.
