My Lady Kenmore 1960 Gas Dryer is Finally Here

Totally Cool . . . I love the big buttons too! Thanks for posting the large pics of the lint bag, a very interesting solution to lint filters.

    Polyester (1981)

Polyester Vomit Scene John Waters is famous for vomit scenes, IMO this is one of his best. It doesn’t occur at the AA meeting but in a very fancy dress shop where Cuddles is trying on clothes - she utters “damn that Halston!” when she rips a too-small dress trying to squeeze it over her ample...

    Polyester (1981)

    <a name="start_53442.758160">"I don't know why you bother, you've always retained your fluids"</a><a name="start_53442.758160"> is my favorite movie line ever!</a><a name="start_53442.758160"> </a>

    Polyester (1981)

My favorite movie of all time! The whole house is so over the top fabulous, or as Cuddles says “Just like Architectural Digest!” For many years I had the exact same turquoise ‘67 Fridigaire bottom freezer refrigerator, what a great box.   Polyester also debuted a significant technical...

Maytag Mountain Ranch in Colorado to be up for auction

Sandy will be sniffing around to see if there might be a pair of white 906s in the basement :)

    Lawnmower advice needed.

I bought a new Craftsman mower earlier this year to replace an older Craftsman that had become increasingly difficult to start. The new one has a Honda engine, their GVC 160. The first time I used it the governor linkage was stuck, it’s on the left hand side of the engine. The result was that it...

TURQUOISE KENMORE WASHER AND DRYER FOR SALE

These are all utterly gorgeous, hope you get the second set Kevin!   Small pet peeve: why do people advertising dryers almost never bother to note if the dryer is gas or electric? Many homes don't have hookups for both.

Looks like SQ had other facilities once upon a time

Nice SQ ad, but I'll admit I really like the ad for shoes a few pages away, it's so 1972!

Nasty coin-op; the fix may be in, stay tuned

Maybe . . . It's time to start watching Craigslist for an old compact portable 120v dryer, then you'd be totally set.

    A Kelvy Wash Cam

What a cool video!  I just love watching that eccentric agitation.

    I'm disgusted

While it is preferable to escape a fire via the stairs it should be possible to use a bedroom window. Modern codes are strict in requiring at least one window in every bedroom with an opening large enough to exit. If a bedroom has a door leading directly outside then this takes the place of the...

Make Sure You Use Good Tools

I love Craftsman tools, for the occasional mechanic like me they’re great. I’ve rarely broken one, even those I’ve had thirty years, and the best part is quick and easy availability at Sears at reasonable prices. I’m under no delusions that they are the equal of professional brands like Snap-On...

    Plug N' Play....

Nice old 'Queen . . . Good to see she's back on the throne washing away! I like that simple yet elegant brushed stainless panel too.

    For the fan collectors

Good looking fan! Excellent all-metal construction with a real safety grill. A lot of old fans don't have adequate protection IMO but the newer fans are all plastic, nothing wrong with plastic in the right places but grills must be thin to maintain airflow and we all know what happens to thin...

    I'm disgusted

Right now mid century modern is trendier in LA than Mediterranean of any sort so I’d suspect the episode is several years old if the original house was MCM. Unfortunately, bad MCM is every bit as nasty as bad Mediterranean and we’re now seeing more bad MCM done by people who clearly don’t know...

    Interesting gas range (Huntsville, AL)

Hmmm . . . A gas range that even Tom and John could love, lol.

1965 Frigidaire Imperial Washer and Dryer.

Just Gorgeous! Turquoise is my favorite appliance color and it really doesn't get better than these.

    WHAT ! A SURGELATOR NO*

Oh yeah! Soooo shiny, and who doesn't like appliances that gleam?

    WHAT ! A SURGELATOR NO*

Thanks for the pic Mickey, it is certainly even splashier.  One thing I love about the first pic is the patterned Blackstone tub wall, to be honest I don't think I've ever seen a Blackstone in real life so that's serious exotica for me.

    WHAT ! A SURGELATOR NO*

I love that last pic, such a lot of splashy goodness there!
