Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

Tom, it's the electrical system in the Canadian model that set it apart.  There is a complete fuse block to protect the surface units, oven, and broil elements in addition to the range outlet.  Unlike the US model, the fuse block in older Frigidaire ranges was under the oven, accessible if you...

Was that Frigidaire stove a Canadian only model? Pete, yes it is.  RT-30-C, quite unlike the US models,  Built in Canada, too!

OK, turns out the door was a bit bent....  Like yours truly... LOL    BUT I wrestled it apart, managed to ease it back into shape and it seems to be opening and closing nicely now!     Now, if I'd managed to black out Southern Quebec and Vermont doing this.... LOL

Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

First project I am finishing up a 1954 Canadian Frigidaire Thrifty Thirty range. This will be going to a collector friend in the US Mid-West this summer with any luck. This was an estate find, in use at the same house from the day Eaton's delivered it until the owner passed away. The oven...

Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

Next, the interior was closed up.  Wiring was put in - and I could tell Reddi-Kilowatt a thing or two about living better electrically... LOL   There are dedicated circuts for testing ranges and dryers, as well as for a space heater AND an air-conditioner.

Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

Ever since I've been messing around with vintage appliances, I seem to prove the rule that nature abhors a vacuum... If there's space in the garage or house, I manage to fill it with some vintage appliance, hi-fi console, tv set, etc etc etc  When I'd tear into a machine, it was usually in the...

    Super Salton power cord

I may have something that would fit this.  I'm still on hiatus in Brazil, returning to Canada next week.  I should be down at the house in Ogden where my parts and supplies are all stored after April 27th, though...  I'll have a look for you when I get back.

    P.O.D. 3-20-2024 - DuoMatic

Cold water for drying in a Duomatic The Duomatic, like a number of electric washer-dryer combos, used flowing cold water to condense the hot, steamy air from the drying clothes and wash it down the drain.   The Bendix and Philco-Bendix combos used a blower to also move air around during the...
