    Blackstone Tub Puller

Anyone need this Blackstone tub puller? Used on the latest model Blackstones (902, etc.), with perforated tub and diecast tub mount. This puller has 2 bolts that go through the tub mount. Tightening the screw on top pulls up the tub/tub mount (hopefully). If you ever had to work on this problem...

    Refrigerator Leaks Causes Hazmat Response

Not exactly my definition of "hazardous materials," but I guess it's the times we live in. If the link is behind a paywall, the article is about a 1940s refrigerator leaking sulfur dioxide in New Bedford, Mass. basement...

Easy Vacuum Electric Washer (well, the brass label)

I have this label from an Easy Vacuum Electric Washer, Model M. I had to Google what a vacuum electric washer was. Interesting mechanism. The label says that patent was 1912. Any idea of when this model was manufactured, in Syracuse? eBay prices for this model are quite high. I'm trying to...

    Blackstone Cigars

Since I have an interest in anything named Blackstone, I was curious when I found this label. It refers to a cigar company. In the early 20th century, it was the largest cigar manufacturer in New England, according to Wikipedia. Charles Henry Bond drowned in a bathtub in 1908.

Really old gas dryers -- where were the pilot lights?

Blackstone Dryers--early 1970s Blackstone Dryers in the early 1970s had pilot lights, which were accessible through a small opening in the front panel. Easy enough to reach in to light the pilot. Blackstone 193 Dryer Returns Home! 220 to 110 Conversion????

I have not tried to dry anything. Actually I am very surprised at how little heat comes from the dryer when running on 110. Perhaps it takes more time to heat up that big empty drum. I need to look up the selling price for the dryer in that invoice. Maybe it was less than $269. There were a lot...

Blackstone 193 Dryer Returns Home! 220 to 110 Conversion????

Working The dryer is working. I only had to lubricate the bearing inside the blower; otherwise the motor would not turn it. The receipt is not for this exact dryer; but it shows the same model with a similar serial number (which was sold to a customer a few days after the date on the receipt.)...

Blackstone 193 Dryer Returns Home! 220 to 110 Conversion????

I figured that it be easy, but not sure. For whatever reason, I do not have the manual for this 193 dryer. That’s why I had to take a picture of the wiring diagram. No, there is no grounding strap. I kind of assumed that not many people had 220 back in the 1950s. Maybe my father had...
