True but there is some oil leaking from the coupler on the gearcase. I probably have to change out the seal so it will all be open anyway. Part number 285352. Do you know which size the catalyst transmission uses?

Completed Had the plywood installed today. Things are significantly better, but I still get some vibration. Leveling the dryer is a tad more difficult, but the washer is what I really cared about.  This solution isn't visually appealing, but its probably the best solution.   

Thanks Glenn. I had actually printed that chart a few weeks ago, but lost it and couldn't find it again online.  So the machine shipped with a 3-pad clutch, okay. I guess it wouldn't hurt if I still put in a heavy duty 6-pad one though, right?

Normal agitation How do I get medium agitation on a full tub of water?  In regards to the clutch, its got a new one, but its only 3 pad. I read somewhere that the Catalyst shipped with 6 pad clutch, is this true? I'm contemplating putting a new 6 pad clutch in there.

Clutch Did the Catalyst ship with a 6 pad clutch or 3? Mine has a new 3 pad clutch. I might put a heavy duty 6 pad clutch in there.

KitchenAid agitator Is there a way to get medium agitation on a full water level as I plan to use the wide base KA agitator in here?    Just to clarify, high speed agitation is a NO NO with the KA base as it puts too much strain on the gearcase, motor, and coupler, correct?

I know. I just removed the agitator, then laid the machine on its back. I then proceeded to drop the transmission. The removing of the cabinet/hoses was not necessary here. I do thank you though for your advice. I have actually applied some grease in the method you describe on my other machines...

I just dropped the transmission which I also needed to do to verify the clutch was new which it was.

Abrupt brake stop… Just letting everyone know that I have applied a little bit of grease on a Q-tip to the brake shoes. Hopefully that resolves the issue.

Picking up tomorrow. He’ll hold it for me.

reliableparts.com I don't think reliableparts.com will carry the blue KA agitator. From the looks of it, it's NLA, as is the white replacement one.

Thank you. That’s good to know. I was actually able to find a blue fabric softener dispenser with the chrome trim on eBay. Do you know when Whirlpool stopped offering the blue agitator and went with the white?

Part numbers Thank you, Glen. They really referred to the auger as a "clothes mover" lol? Wow. Anyway I will probably order the agitator Melvin specified. Did this white one come with a special fabric softener in white that had the chrome finish, too?

Is this white still available as a new part from Whirlpool? Do you have any insight as to why they ditched the blue one?

Not a bad price until shipping comes in. The cheapest option for me is $50 and that's through FedEx.  Is that part number the same for the blue one?
