    Got the KA stainless beater

Have restored a couple of KAs now, bought several things from Mr. Mixer.  Good video instructions and tips.   I haven't installed one of the Everdime washers on a tilt-head mixer, my Hobart is a bowl-lift model.  Mom has a tilt-head so may try one on that just for fun.  It helps keep the...

The Today Show w/ Fred Maytag II - March 1954 - 16mm Film

Great video, I can imagine many women watching this on Tuesday, March 2  pining for an automatic washer after spending most of Monday doing the family wash.     Thanks for doing these videos, Cory.

    This Week: Whirlpool Jingles

Great job, again.  The a/c condenser skittering across the screen was awesome, WP made really good HVAC products.

    Oh Melvin.. Melvin!!!!!

Penta-Swirl!  This was probably a Sunday-ad pair, usually would run "on sale" for a week or two and then the model would change slightly in features, etc.  but was always within a few dollars of the usual replacement market price point.  Sears got slammed hard on bait-n-switch schemes and...

    Servis becomes reality......

Nice washer find!  You've done a great job bringing it back to its original glory, it looks stunning!  Can't wait to see it running, that agitator is so interesting.

    9-Millionth Maytag Washer - 16mm Film

Terrific job, Cory.   That would have been a fun day to be present for, wasn't this factory building fairly new in 1955?  What a time to live in Newton.

    Penncrest!

Nice save, Dan.  Good looking range.  Elements with integrated rings and new bowls are not hard to find on ebay, from John L., etc.   I believe you may be able to remove those center "P" emblems and attach them to the new elements, I did this with my 58 GE elements.  The emblems will...

Warning never ever use Tesla for solar panels

Sorry to hear your experience is so sketchy with Tesla. You would think that given the desire for customers to adopt this new technology, the customer service would be exemplary.   Is there a roofing material that you can use to deter the squirrels going forward?

    Hotpoint Dishwasher

We had a mid-sixties Hotpoint in a house bought in the mid-80's.  Miserable performer all around, especially after having a four year old  Maytag Jetclean in the previous kitchen.  The sound of water smashing around in the machine was impressive but sadly, the results were usually a...

    Kenmore 90 Electronic Set

Nice find, Jon.  Some friends have this set in black and other than a few typical repairs to both over the years, they're going strong today.  These controls are very flexible and easy to use, much improved since the first touch-control models of the early 80's.

    Unimac UYT025 Now With Heat!

That is a perfect upgrade, you'll have the cleanest wash on the block! (as if you didn't before :-)

    Whirlpool dryer

Here is the 1970 Mark XII version.  I picked this up a couple of years ago to get the green cabinet for a '69 Mark XII (pic 4).

The JE 896D1AV General electric versa Tronic range

This is so cool - congrats on getting it going again.  I've only seen a couple of newer Versatronic ranges around here, nothing this age though.  Keep us posted on the performance.

    Westinghouse Dryer

OK, I'll bite.     What is the purpose of the "cotton-ball stuffed pillowcase"?

1948 Bendix Gyromatic - Back in Action

This is a really neat bit of history, good save!   The new boot looks great on the machine, tell us more.  It can't simply be a fashion accessory repurposed?

My thoughts on the Miele G7166

Wirecutter   A friend's sister had a Miele d/w a few years back installed during a kitchen remodel.  She lasted nearly two years with it, hated the racking and smaller capacity compared to her previous machine (KitchenAid) and replaced the Miele with a Bosch. I saw that Wirecutter review...

It's laundry day every three or four weeks here

Looks like a fun day - I love having big piles of laundry to do, but then the mandatory folding is my least favorite part.

    Thoughts on LG wash tower.

I only know a couple of people that have them, one in new construction as a second laundry location in the dog room.  So far, the reviews there are good, lots of loads after the move-in and the tower always performed great.  My mother's neighbor in the apartment below bought one to make more...

Unwrapping a new “Vintage” heat pump dryer

Love those NIB finds, what a fun one to find.  Did you find out why it was never un-boxed?
