Thanksgiving Is About Two Weeks Away-What's Everyone Cooking

For a number of years, Fred Nelson came in to town for the week of the holiday and we always did the full-dinner Thanksgiving spread. Way too much food, tradition, leftovers for everyone and in the end, too much food wasted.     With his passing this last January and things being so...

    New Dream Machine Acquired!

This is so cool jamie - congratulations!  I'm so jealous - lol.  I've considered buying a used commercial machine several times but scrapped the idea due to mounting/install, electrical (pesky 3-phase!) and other roadblocks.  i'm so glad you figured out how to overcome all of those...

Did you go, Max?  I love those time capsule sales, they're getting rarer and rarer now.

1997 Gas Maytag Dryer New in Box

Nice find.  I had the model below this, first model in the line with Intellidry feature, also gas fueled.  It was one of my favorite dryers, always accurate and fast drying.

    A Few New Detergents

Interesting Omo finds, Nathan and Michael brought a stash of Omo Ultimate when they visited last summer from Austrailia and sent me a box.  It's wonderful stuff and the scent is light and clean.

    GM Frigidaire 1-18 Gentle Speed

Good idea.   Anything below a Maxi load really only needs slower pulsation in a 1-18.  The slower speed allows the plunging action to work better at the bottom of the tub, especially for smaller loads that tend to float on top the water if the speed is too fast.

    What do you guys think?

Love the idea of this - I'd buy one just to play with at that price point.  Another great idea, Thomas, your ideas coming to reality must be very satisfying.

    Ice Slices

I had one of these, found at a sale years ago.  Could never get the ice out of it in "slices" as they stuck too tightly on the fins of the tray.  The couple of times I tried it, it was more like ice chips and frost left after ejection.

Reproduction Rubber Kenmore Scrubber Caps and GE Filter-Flo Mounts now Available

These pics are really stunning - it's like seeing these machines as they would have looked brand new on the showroom floor, or at least should have looked with the complimentary colors.

Great job grabbing these, Jon, they are beautiful in pink. Congrats!

    Who Made These Washers?

Interesting picture - it looks like the logo next to the Duplex might be a large, stylized "E"?  Maybe the washer to the left of the turquoise f/l would give a clue?  Anyone recognize that panel?   Here are couple of vintage Norge coin-op washer examples with oval door escutcheons, were...

My Summer of Vintage Washer Rubber Reproduction

Yes Chef!   I never had any doubt you'd crack the recipe and get these parts as good as or better than new.  I can't wait to see them in person.

    Bradford find

This is a nice save - and the set, wow.  Hopefully they'll not need much work to get them running again.  I had a Kelvinator branded washer of this same (Franklin) design years ago.  There were so many pin-holes in the outer tub it leaked like a shot-up Yosemitie Sam when it was full of water. ...

    Another Unimatic Found!

This is such a good find - now we have sister washers lol.  Congrats on a great Frigidaire find!   I hadn't imagined the harmonizer could make much of a difference in the balancing and smooth spinning compared with later weighted tub designs of Frigidaire, but it really does.     Here...

    Doris Day kitchen

The photo in original post is reversed - here's the version you can read the Vent-A-Hood logo correctly.    This looks like a three-fan model, built for the griddle/grill and four-plus-two range top combination. Vent-A-Hood was probably the finest of of ventilation options at the time (and...
