    Tragic

I own a new Bosch UK machine, and one of the reasons it appealed to me was it's simplicity. I must say, however, my 18 month old can drag a pile of dirty duds from the floor into the to drum, close the door, turn the program selector from off to any random cycle and hit start (a touch sensitive...

    Faulty bosch.

Just my input..... I owned a 1996 Bosch (forget model) and I now own a 2008 one. Much much prefer the later Bosch. Why? The cycles. On the old one a cottons 40 wash (for example) either lasted 12 minutes on short wash, then spending 50 minutes to rinse and spin, or an hour (on normal cycle)...

Looking for a Bendix autowasher deluxe

Dyson2Drums Cos it was made proper. Also cos it had a bloody massive induction motor running it as opposed to a whiny little brush motor.

    The banging Hottie!

Is it definitely banging and not just `water slap'? This can sound like banging, really loud. These Hotties are famous for water slapping. Literally, water thrown out during spin doesn't reach the pump and the paddles just chuck it round the outer drum. If water is pouring down the glass during...

    Lessives Francais

Thanks for that pic Launderess, I very much enjoyed looking at it! Are they all French? Dash in France is the equivalent of Bold (2 in 1) and given that Dash in the picture is splt into regular and color, with no mention of 2 in 1, I would guess it's the Italian version which I believe is a...

    Dyson CR01 part 2

LOL, Aquarius..... never the diplomat, but I kind of admire you for just saying what you think. Have no experience with the washers so can't comment but as for the vacs - so true....can't stand the damn thing....was cross at the previous Miele for only lasting 6 years before falling apart but...

    Fabric Conditioner

Hi folks Mike - yes, the vented dryer certainly leaves things fresher than the condensor in my opinion. It seems to run a lot cooler, could that be why? Comfort Pure is one of my faves too - used it for years - but I just cannot forgive Comfort for the continual splodges it leaves on black...

    Dyson CR01 part 2

Rich, I just have to reply to your comments about the original Tide and Persil non bio scents. I used to love Persil non bio and I actually I thought the scent was very similar to Tide. Now, as you say, it's vile. Heaven knows what they were thinking over at Lever Towers. Am most jealous of your...

    Fabric Conditioner

Hi Jon Nice to hear from you and no - once again I didn't get your email! Hope all is well with you at uni. You're not too far from me now - mb we could meet up for a few drinks or something? It's a shame they discontinued your fave pank comfort. Oddly, I felt that when they did that the...

    Fabric Conditioner

Matty that's a very cute bottle of FS. For some reason I always remember an episode of `Neighbours' when a character said how nice the washing smelled in the Robinson household. I think the name of the woman responding was Helen Daniels, anyway she replied `ah, that'll be the fabric softener...

P&G to reduce formats within 5 years

I am pretty gutted about tablets going, they're what I use most often for whites and lights. I don't really even know why - I understand powder gives better dosing control, better economy etc. There's something I just like about the tablets. Find powder tends not to dispense quite so perfectly...

    Fabric Conditioner

Some prefer not to use it at all, others use vinegar. SOme say it gunks up the machine, others can't stand the scent. Some use a double dose and bask in the scent, others use just enough to get buy. Some will not permit it anywhere near towels while others will use use a dryer sheet on towels...

    Best detergent for dark laundry...

Hi Darren. Pleased to see you both looking so well! How are you finiding the Bosch / baby laundry? Great thread! Yeah - the question of what's best for darks is not one I will claim to have `the answer' to, as I think it's swings and roundabouts. If you use a regular / non `colour' detergent...

New compact P&G powders for the UK and new Unilever Persil Naturals range

Hi Rolls It's not the first time someone has mentioned Dixan being sold in the Co-op, I seem to remember this came up a couple of years ago? Have not seen it south of the border. I, personally, wouldn't hesitate to buy a box. This is the `number one' detergent in Cyprus and is popular in other...

Which? Detergent Tests 30°C Jan 2009

Well, I'm not sure if people have a `general dislike' of P and G proucts, this would suggest irrational bias and I think most folk round here are objective about these matters. But I'm definitely in the camp which doesn't like the Ariel Excel Gel. I totally echo MRX's comments about it...

    Ebay November

Old Zanussi `18 years old but never put a foor wrong in all that time' Why doesn't that surpise me. What fantastic machines these really were. The seller appears genuine, if only it were a little more local! I don't know if this is a carbon brush or induction machine, I find it hard to tell...

    Zanussi Z9191T videos

Fantastic videos, thanks Tom! I remember those machines well. The tumble speed looks really fast. It looks great in your kitchen too. David, your comment about the motor may explain something I always wondered about. The Zanussi induction machine I had (a later, `grey' machine) had a label...

    Fresh as a Daisy?

Congrats on the detergent haul Mark! Am very interested to know how Aldi tabs compare to FORMIL. I'm so impressed with Formil. I had also noticed the Tesco price rise - what an outrage, especially since the phosphates are now OUT! I'm a big `one tab' user - is it possible with the ASDA stuff...

    Longest running detergent scents

Hi Dan - sorry, can't confirm the Bold confusion, but I THINK they were indeed the same. Have just completed some washing with blue Lenot infusions, and actually it is kind of familiar. It's actually very similar to Lidl's Doussy, at way more than double the price! It's on offer at Wilkos...
