    Deep rinse FL UK/IRL?

Which? rated one particular Aqualtis model as a don't buy - that doesn't cover the entire range, just that model. They generally won't recommend Hotpoint washers at the moment anyway until the reliability data they get from their surveys gets better. Interestingly, the 8kg model isn't on...

    AEG Lavamat 971 has arrived!

Year of manufacture - around 1987-1989. My grandparents had a 981 that was purchased in 1988. Gave them 10 years of faultless service before the pump went wonky and the machine wouldn't always spin. They bought a replacement machine and the 981 was taken back by the appliance shop to be...

    still no help

I can't take the credit - I thought of it when I read the first post, but Mike had already suggested it :-)

    still no help

Have you tried running a hot wash with no soap but some vinegar?

    Vibration Vs. Spin Speed

It's not just to do with vibrations, but resonance frequency as well. I think a lot of flooring materials seem to have a resonance frequency that corresponds with the frequencies produced by the washers at around 900-1000rpm, at least in my experience.

    AGA Cookers

I know many people that swear by them, but I think it would take me a lot of adjusting to get used to one. I'm far too used to having gas hob and electric oven, and that's what I like. Cooking is a very personal thing with preferences, so what one person likes another might not. I do agree with...

Miele Vacuum Bags - FJM and GN Series

Last time I bought bags for the vac, it was from Miele's online store, just after they started operating it. There was an error, and it showed two sets but only charged me for one, so they apologised and sent me two boxes of bags for the price of one. Wish other companies were that easy to deal...

    Hotpoint-Ariston

Old brands... I've just recently noticed that the old Electricity board brand - Electra - is back again. Certainly being sold through Euronics outlets, they seem to be rebadged Servis machines. The article that I linked to does say that the Ariston name won't be returning to the UK... I think...

    Hotpoint-Ariston

Ah hah! I think I may be right - they're eventually going to drop one, but Ariston, not Hotpoint. Hotpoint is going pan-European. http://ertweekly.com/default.aspx.locid-05nnew0fa.Lang-EN.htm

    Hotpoint-Ariston

Ah hah! I think I may be right - they're eventually going to drop one, but Ariston, not Hotpoint. Hotpoint is going pan-European. It also sounds like H-A may not necessarily appear in the UK... http://ertweekly.com/default.aspx.locid-05nnew0fa.Lang-EN.htm

    Hotpoint-Ariston

At least Whirlpool's machines stayed mostly on the good side. It looks, from the logo at least, as though they are completely copying Electrolux brands. I suppose I can see the logic in it from a marketing point of view - less money to spend on advertising etc and rebranding with different...

    dyson cr01

They were a sales failure, and weren't very well received by reviewers either. Dyson have stopped production of them and there's no plans to bring them back - though I guess all the patents etc are up for sale should anyone want them.

Creda 1000 Vs. Converse All Stars

Yikes. What cycle and temperature did you use?

A bit off topic I know...

What's worse is that that is the second or third guy to be caught doing the same thing in different places.

    cats and dogs

I adore Eddie Izzard generally, but one of my favourite sketches is the Pavlov's cat one. This isn't the best video clip, but still...

    NEW: Whirlpool Steam Dryer

It's not on sale in the UK as yet, as far as I'm aware, and nor are the new 8kg Electrolux tilted drum washers on the German site.

    Maytag "CABRIO" Model

Remember that F&P and Whirlpool have a technology sharing agreement, it's probably the same machine essentially. And when did F&P move away from BSH front loaders to Beko?

    Hotpoint V-axis TL

I'm surprised I've not seen anyone mentioning this one yet... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HOTPOINT-ELECTRONIC-1050-DELUXE-TOP-LOADER-MACHINE_W0QQitemZ200089065544QQcategoryZ71256QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
