Nice!  Those are more convenient, but they depend heavily on the door gasket to keep the denser, cold air from falling out the bottom, and drawing in moisture laden air at the top. Keep that gasket in good order and it should serve well for a long time!

All of this is so disappointing......  We all need to preserve the earlier models since that may be the only hope.

Samsung to be avoided at all cost. I have spent many months in South Korea working at their facilities and have seen how this company operates from the inside. Totally unsurprising to hear about fires or other accidents due to cost-cutting or overstressing parts to make performance claims.

I would avoid Pine-Sol in laundry. When I was younger, a friend had a bedwetting problem and his parents washed everything in Pine-Sol.  Now I automatically imagine the odor of soured piss when I smell it. I used to hate it when visiting their home and having to sleep on pissy pine-sol smelling...

I would try to fix that cooler if you can.   If you can't fix it, look for a more vintage one like this!
