    Miele W&D Set

Last few days things were basically down to two bidders up against each other. Someone new came in at last few minutes and copped the lot for $2,400 USD Sure hope those units don't have issues, winning bidder's CC will be charged at once for final hammer price plus BP, and that will be that...

Evolution of H-Axis Washing Machines From Semi to Fully Automatic

Those extractors (centrifuges) in laundries were long a danger even when just used by industrial or commercial establishments. After some poor wee lad had his arm ripped off by a Bock extractor that was it far as laundromats were concerned. Many either took the things out an or disabled them...

I now own a Wascomat washer

Am no expert but do not believe immersion heating elements (shown in picture) can be swapped in as replacement for convector type. Will give you that convectors usually are nothing more than one or series of tubes surrounded by fins, but that's the thing isn't it? Fins are there to create and...

I now own a Wascomat washer

Steam has greater heating capacity than hot water. You see this in difference between convectors or radiators used for hydronic (hot water) heating versus steam. Those for former must be larger or more of them than when latter is used. Dryer design will only accommodate radiators/convectors...

Evolution of H-Axis Washing Machines From Semi to Fully Automatic

Motors and electronics on modern laundry and dishwashing appliances consume very little energy. Big draws on juice comes from heaters, especially resistance heating. Basically anything that adds or removes heat (such as AC or refrigeration) uses good to large amounts of energy. One quibble...

Evolution of H-Axis Washing Machines From Semi to Fully Automatic

Vintage Apex h-axis washer complete with wringer. https://hibid.com/lot/260277965/apex-electric-washer?ref=lot-list Capacity seems likely less than Thor Cylinder washers, but still proves what was out there in early part of prior century. That is taking a page from laundries domestic washing...

    Miele W&D Set

Anyone? https://hibid.com/lot/262945021/miele-washer-and-dryer-?ref=lot-list Seriously considered going for this set, but just don't have space to spare. It has been made clear as it is things need moving on, not adding to one's "collection", so that's me for you.

Is this the holy Grail of collecting? (Vintage Wasconat)

Interesting, best of luck! But where are you going to find 400v power to run those washers?

    Tide Original

Keep in mind there are "professional" laundry products and also "commercial/institutional", and there can be a difference. Professional P&G offerings same as with those from Henkel generally are geared for OPL, home style washers (top loaders) and so forth. These products tend to have milder pH...

    Tide Original

IIRC Tide "Professional" powder is rated for temps low as 95F which is par for course since it does contain an activated oxygen bleaching system with TAED (P&G has discontinued using NOBS). https://pgpro.com/en-us/brands/tide-professional/powder-detergent As for other versions of Tide powder...

    Tide Original

You're not missing that much with Ecolab Royal Brite. Yes, it's more concentrated which equals less per pound of laundry used, but formula otherwise isn't that much different than top shelf powder detergents such as Tide or Persil (Henkel)...

    Kirkland laundry detergent

P&G does not do private label products, well not in USA anyway that one knows of.
  16. launderess

    Kirkland laundry detergent

Thing is about these inexpensive powdered laundry detergents is they often are heavy on washing soda, zeolites, sodium sulfate and other bits that don't always dissolve fully. This more so if local water has various levels of higher end of hardness scale, and or many loads done in cool or cold...
