    WM4370 drain pump died

Going from the back is going to be tricky. Not saying it can't be done, but it'll be quite a reach with the tub in the way. But certainly easier than on other machines that aren't direct drive. Those pumps have a duty cycle rating. The one I found ad hoc searching for parts for your machine...

New Miele W2 Nova Edition on Miele Swiss website

I think Miele decidedly did not use an inverter drain pump. They had a machine with an inverter drain pump and I am almost certain to have read at least one report where a blocked drain pump caused a control board issue. I still don't get why all the manufacturers put the inverter electronics...

New Miele W2 Nova Edition on Miele Swiss website

Those cotton cycles are over all really nice IMO. I don't quite get why you need almost 30min for a final spin. 17min used to be extravagant, now that. And 2h main washes for a partial load? I mean, we knew they had to compensate somewhat for the reduced mechanical action. Performance surely...

New Miele W2 Nova Edition on Miele Swiss website

Completly new QPW cycle Somebody (german, of course) got a WQ1000 and started filiming, with a QuickPowerWash 40C cycle. Things of note in order of video appearance: - You can select Eco and a pre wash on QPW now - but no extra rinses ?!? - Load sensing has certainly been improved. I would...

    AEG L99695LWD Operating hours counter

Switch the machine on, turn to 5th position clockwise, then hold the same buttons as for service mode.

Epitome of proper daily laundry sorting???

I mean, most loads done are really small. Most higher end EU machines have some kind of "single item" or "mini load" function. But as with all methods, doing smaller loads will always be less efficient. And I'd be somewhat concerned with the number of things going wrong with such a machine. If...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

I don't think it takes any college education to realise that if a) importing everything is made HORRENDOUSLY expensive (tariffs) and b) you still need these things (I mean, yeah...) the conclusion to still make things affordable and available is makeing them in your country. What has been asked...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

That's just not how the world works anymore. Without wanting to get to political: Trumps logic for tarifs - directly or indirectly - was that the US imports many more goods than it exports. He wanted to change that because in his mind the US should not import more than they export. AKA "make...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

People, apparently from America, saying this THIS VERY WEEK hits you in the face SO HARD with irony, it's almost funny again...

    Miele W5740 Problems

At 12k hours, throwing money at it really doesn't seem useful. Miele always says their machines are designed for 10k hours. At over 12k, the machine has done it's best. I'd really advise on replacement, unless getting it repaired is possible at a reasonable price - or just getting the apparent...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

    1. 650 people is about 1.3% of their employees. That's probably FAR below normal turnover. Just not hiring for a month or two would have been the same. 2. They still met (an exceeded) their projected earnings last year. Every manufacturer had a post Covid crash - look at ANY manufacturers...

    Speed Queen - Coming Soon...

I've always found it to be such a let down that on machines with limited dual positions, you'd only get 1 or 2 time dry settings Especially here where you could easily double the dryness selector with time selections (Less dry / 15 min, near dry / 30min, dry / 45min).

    Miele W5740 Problems

Here's a video - though German it shows you the gist of what to do. Apparently, on some machines, you can navigate with the dial and start as well.

    Miele W5740 Problems

There should be several instructions online, just be careful to not change any settings you're not 100% sure you want to change, you can potentially brick the machine. There are 2 menus, the service menu with al the tests and fault code storage and the operation hour counter, and the second...

    Miele W5740 Problems

I think you're describing several issues here that just coincide. The suds locking issue is known from this series. There is a hose running from the drain system to the detergent drawer that is there to vent any air fron the pump. That can become clogged by residue over the lifetime of the...

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

I mean, these pumps are REALLY affordable. Dosen't even have to be a brand name one. If you can do it yourself (which really is easy) I don't see the point in scraping a machine because of a broken pump. Even if you want to get something new at that point, changing the pump and putting it up...

New Miele W2 Nova Edition on Miele Swiss website

So there is actually a quite simple explanation why they had to create those big drum models. The new EU label introduced a max wash time which scales with load size to a max of 4h regardless of load size. It think north of 9kg you hit the 4h or something like that. This generation is...

New Miele W2 Nova Edition on Miele Swiss website

What's really funny: Miele explicitly mentions under the usage table in the Swiss manual that all values are for 400V 2 phase connections. Yet ALL cycles take the exact same times as the 230V models in Germany do. I would not be surprised at all if that 400V connection does not do anything at...

New Miele W2 Nova Edition on Miele Swiss website

I would guess sudsing is a lesser issue - without clothes dropping as much, there's less air introduced into the laundry. Less whipping up, so to speak. I would be way more interested in the wash times for small loads. You can compensate for low mechanical action woth long wash times - but that...
