my local appliance dealer, with whom I have been doing business for over 30 years, told me that they sold more SQ appliances than any other brand. They sell every brand except Frigidaire, and the salesman there told me that since Frigidaire had become such "junk", they won't even fool with it...

a product called "Invisible Glass" does a great job of cleaning car windows and removing that film. It also does a great job in the house, too. I bought mine at KMart, but that other Mart that I don't shop in has it, too. I have also seen it in auto parts stores.....it's a great product.

My mom wore "pedal pushers" (so named because they were designed to be worn while riding a bicycle and "pushing the pedal" and wouldn't get caught in the chain if there was no chain guard) around the house all the time, but wouldn't wear them anywhere "important". That called for a dress.

Norge ball I was so disappointed when the huge ball came down. The few times we went to "the Village" to do laundry, I was intrigued by the Norge machines, as most of my family had Frigidaire washers. If I remember correctly, the self-service dry cleaning was a whopping dollar a load....guess...

Norge Village We had one in Charleston, about 5 miles from my house. It is the only coin op laundry my mother would use when our washer was broken. It's a casket store now.

Just bought a box of Tide Vivid, original scent. On the box is the standard message that if you have an HE washer, you should use Tide HE. Also on the box is the HE symbol. I'm confused....is P&G slowly combining the two products into one? I wrote Tide.com several months ago about using HE...

it's probably too late to worry about damage to the porcelain finish on the bathroom fixtures. They are 60 years old, and while I can't speak for their first ten years, I know my Mom (think June Cleaver or Donna Reed) scrubbed them with Comet from 1962-90, and I have done so since then...

for me, the new detergents work well, but I miss the smell of chlorine that was in the old detergents, such as Cascade. But...I still bleach my white clothes and wash them in hot water. I also use Comet or Ajax to scrub my bathtub, shower, bathroom sinks and kitchen sinks. I also bleach...

Were films like these shown in theaters before/after movies? I would think that would be the only place, since television was not around???

dryer door the dryer door is probably reversible. if reversing the door would help the awkwardness, look for plastic covers opposite where the hinges are......

Cascade Complete The Big Lot stores in my area have HUNDREDS of boxes of Cascade Complete (with phosphates) on the shelves. Nobody seems to be buying them......
