    Induction, baby!

ICT I managed to drop a pan and break the corner off my hob it really annoys me as its so visible, I tried glueing it back on as it was just 1 piece but you can see the glue even though I used a knife blade scraper to clean it up as best I could. I keep an eye on eBay to see if anyone has the...

    The Creda/Electra Mission.

Creda / Electra I have a superb condition and full working order model from the 80's hardly used and lovingly cared for by one lady owner.

    Indesit dishwasher

OMG We had that model after the previous one had no water softener or detergent dispenser this one lasted years until it was replaced by a Zanussi around 1991 now that was a hurricane in a box which is not surprising as the motor if I recall correctly was huge ..

Update on Maytag A112 saga, also feeling a bit reflective

@ryner1988 Is there anyone near you who would be willing to strip down and rebuild a mechanically controlled machine for you? And out of curiosity would it be impossible to buy a reconditioned one from Lorain Furniture am sure Eugene would sort you out he is a superb engineer. Do you have...

Miele Twin Dos delayed cheesy smell on items

I purposely bought a model without Twindose as I prefer to use powder for whites and what ever colour liquid is on offer. I have an old Ariel ball I put the liquid in and powder goes in the drawer which is also able to use capsules sold by Miele but I don't have the need to use the product and...

On The Quest For A New Powdered Laundry Detergent

Non bio powder Now someone correct me if I am mistaken but I was always led to believe that non bio powder cleaned by bleaching fabrics as opposed to using enzymes? Which always made it superb for washing whites. Having used it for years for said whites I have gone back to Ariel as Persil non...

Hot rinses on a Aussie whirlpool

Hot rinses Didn't they help when pure soap was used before detergent was the norm? Soap being a fat by product needed warm to hot water to rinse it out.

    Splosh Powder

@launderess In all my years of laundry I have never needed a single limescale remover as well as decent detergent ! Always have a tendency to dose according to situation and until now never had an issue even machines that have been white with scale have come clean but not anymore and I am...

    Dryer vents

@maytag85 I think you may want to see what it costs these days to run an 8000 Watt dryer its why vented dryers over here are dying out as they just cost too much to run. With todays increases in energy bills I like a heat pump dryer as its gentle you dry anything in it and I manage to keep my...

    Splosh Powder

@liberatordeluxe I have tried all the others and I liked Sainsbury's bio powder but it stopped being available in a large box which as the store is the other side of town to me I stopped buying it, Tesco I gave up on as it was no where near as good and I wash a lot of whites so wanted something...

Center Dial Maytags In Countries Other Than The U.S.A.?

@foraloysius I believe the Maytags were imported here and sold as commercial quality machines I never saw one in a house only ever in Rest Homes and places with large quantities of laundry. And the one Leon has looks just like the one I used back in mid 80's I remember the home owner coming...

Center Dial Maytags In Countries Other Than The U.S.A.?

Had one in a hotel/rest home in the UK It was a centre dial with 3 buttons on the left for water level and then it had temp buttons on the right and it said Automatic on a badge but don't ask me what model it was this was back in 1986. It did all the laundry for 26 rooms and dining linen.
