I've always hated sodium street lights, prefer mercury to them.  That said I'll take LED over either.   Headlights are another story. There is much that can be done to improve  them. in Europe adaptive headlights are an option, here they are not allowed.

I've only used the basic units in break rooms and such,  not impressed. I'd be curious about the higher end models but I've never come across any.

Same here,   have central AC, have not used it in years.  Lots of big trees around the house, I put cellular shades in the bedrooms, keep them closed depending on sun's position.  It was in the 90s last week, got up to 82 in the house, certainly livable. My folks bought a bottom freezer Coldspot in'62, it ran great for 45 years. I replaced the defrost heater at one point and the timer a bit later. At the end it just quit cooling,  was a beast to get out of the basement.

The tail piece is a standard item, I rarely use the type included, mostly use a straight tube.  For the flange I can't be of much help, but I always use plumber's putty on the flange rather than a rubber gasket, better seal in my opinion.

I use my 30+yo KA all the time.  It was joined a few years ago by my frequently used Bosch made Nutramill mixer. I real only use it with the stainless bowl and the bread kneading claw made for the Bosh version. I make a heavier sour dough bread that strained the KA but the Nutramill easily does...

To the best of my memory there is a small adjustment screw on the bi-metal strips that only need a small tweak.

Back in the 50's and 60's the future was wide open and a wonderful place - anything was possible.  Now the future is not a good thing, more a thing to be dreaded. Either we quit dreaming, or achieved "the dream kitchen"  When was the last time recently anyone has offered a kitchen of tomorrow?
