    1956 General Electric Kitchen Center

I have a little info.... Hi Sean - although I don't have a lot of GE information, I was able to find out a few facts for you. The model number for your oven is J247-1N2. This version does not turn the broil unit during Time Bake. The p/n for the timer is WB19X18. I have posted a page from a 56...

Questions about the G.E. Mark 27

From a 1961 GE catalog "New!" Plus a copy of an individual brochure. Locally, these Mark 27's were used in many 1960's housing developments as we are near the GE Main Plant in Schenectady NY and GE appliances were the predominate choice of builders.

Frigidaire 1-18 1977 or 1978 Harvest Gold washer for free

Last of the 1/18's I believe this is a WC-6G Crown model from 1979. The color is not shaded, the lint filter appears to be the basket-type, not a bed-of-nails, and the water level switch has the level indicator label showing the JetCone agitator. I couldn't find this label on any earlier...

    Ka 15 series question

Imperial Since all KD15 portables were just the built in models with the panels & hoses, I'd just move all the parts to your Superba. Unless the Imperial has a better tub and/or inner door panel.

Best disposers -- vintage or modern?

Could anyone please give me a clue? "Could anyone please give me a clue as to how the KA disposer is separated from the sink flange?" Will this help? I remember that it's a little tricky.

    Tender-Matic instructions

Pork shoulder Sounds like you have a well-practiced recipe that always works out well for you. I guess lots of folks have different opinions about the Tender Matic slow cooking process.

    Tender-Matic instructions

Here you go I can't see anyone these days willing to leave a piece of raw meat in their oven for 8 hours, but that's me.

Best disposers -- vintage or modern?

Maytag disposers Back in the early 70's, the Maytag dealer I worked for had a disposer on display that he would use to grind up pennies. It was still working when I left a couple of years later.

    GM/Frigidare Dishwasher

It's been for sale awhile Looks like an early '70's model, just before they changed the control panel design. Not a bad unit, with the poly door liner and decent racks, seems like it had low use. But there is excessive rusting on the top, which may have compromised the metal. No silverware...

Best disposers -- vintage or modern?

Superba model Yup, there was a Superba disposer, both batch-feed and continuous. I found mine on eBay, NIB for I think $30. That was back in 1988 and I've taken it with me twice when I moved. It still works great. I did disconnect the batch control as I prefer the continuous operation.

    Old style GE dishwasher impeller

Anyone looking for the old style GE/Hotpoint dishwasher impeller, this guy has several. I'd bet he would be flexible on the price as the market is so limited. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235109475176

    Did this Dishwasher Actually Exist?

Like this, Rinso? I rescued this from a kitchen remodel where the previous owner cooked in the basement and this sat mostly unused. All the wiring was brittle but the inside was mint!

    Did this Dishwasher Actually Exist?

Actually 5 min Very basic builders model. The cycle started when you latched the door.

    A turquoise GE kitchen

Wall ovens The wall oven with the window appears to be a JD14X from 1963. Later models, although similar, had a squared-off trim line rather than the "French Provincial" look as shown here. The other oven without a window appears to be a J720 from 1960. Maybe they got it as a close-out.

    Vintage french door refrigerator?

Westinghouse offered them as well. Westinghouse featured the French-door fridge from 1966-1968. For 1969, they dropped out of the line with all their other bottom freezer fridges. I bet it was the ever popular side-by-side that outsold them.
