Because the plug got hot, the outlet is damaged.  The contacts in the outlet have been overheated and will no longer hold the plug tightly or have a good solid connection.  This can cause the plug to get hot and fail again.     The outlet should be replaced, no ifs, ands, or butts.   Will it...

If the plug was heating up the outlet should be replaced, no two ways about it.  

To remove the agitator on my 1972 A606 16 years ago, I made a web of clothes line running up and down inside the middle of the agitator, laid the machine on it's side, attached the web to a nice big slide hammer, and banged away until it popped off.  Man, it was really on there, but it came off...

We buy this at our local independent supermarket.  We always buy the big bottle with the spigot on it.  They have some with and 'HE sticker, and some without.  Since we have a conventional top loader, we buy the bottle that has no 'HE' sticker.  I imagine it would be less expensive at Walmart...

I find the Tide Original non-HE liquid to have much less suds than it used to, but it still cleans up a storm in my Maytag A606.

line 5 for an "HE full load" I noticed that on my current bottle of non-HE Tide liquid.  I assumed it was a typo.  I would think that HE front-load machine would choke on "line 5" worth of this detergent. 

The only problem I've seen around here is a shortage of Fresca cans in the soda aisle.

Most automatic transmission made before 1967 have rear pumps and can be push started. That goes for GM, Ford, Chrysler, and Borg Warner (AMC & Studebaker).
