    Belt drive Whirlpool washer

Sicklerville is about an hour and a half away from me. A buddy of mine has a truck. If the person is willing to part with the washer alone I can probably get it for about $50 or cheaper. I'd pay $50 for it it's worth it. If someone snatches it up before then I wish them the best and that they...

When did Whirlpool start go to bad?

Well Jerome Whirlpool definitely ushered in a pretty radical departure from what they had with the L.E.A.P. design that everyone knows as the direct drives. They revolutionized the industry with those machines.

    Belt drive Whirlpool washer

Problem is Sean I don't really have the room and I need the space for other things. I'll have to see how things go tomorrow and if they still have it by Saturday

When did Whirlpool start go to bad?

#31. Don't know if I say I can agree with that. Been using direct drive washers for 37 years and I can compare them directly with the two belt drives I have. It's funny isn't it? Frigidaire pulsator washers didn't really flex the clothes but just kept them spinning in the same spot...

suspicion that i have (not a complaint)

We had a Whirlpool dryer for 27 years and the only thing we ever replaced on it was a roller. Ditched it because the safety switch snapped off and was right around the time I just bought a new SQ washer AWN432. So went and got a speed clean dryer, the top of the line one at that time.

    What do I have here?

I have your mom's machine. I found a barely used 74 70 series Kenmore in a cabin up in New York state last December. Got many videos of it. Unfortunately it did not have the detergent dispenser

    What do I have here?

I'm wondering if that's a detergent dispenser by the edge of the lid there

    What do I have here?

That's weird seeing how the Lady Kenmore garage door model was available in 75 also

    What do I have here?

This looks to be a 1975 Kenmore 70 series. This should have a Gold Penta Swirl agitator. I have the 74 70 with the raised controls. Could you post an interior shot of the agitator and tub please.

Estate sale find: 1977 GE Electric range in Avocado

I wish I could have taken my mid 80s Tappan Centennial 30" gas range with me when I moved. Beautiful chrome back guard with fluorescent light and analog dials. Much better than the whirlpool Amana I have now. Another stove was actually easier to keep looking clean also.

Improving Top Loader Washer Performance Via Intermediate Soaks

I believe if you open the lid and leave it open the machine will drain after 15 minutes maybe less. You have to pause the machine to not have it drain. I know it was like that on the Amana ,Whirlpool and Maytag commercial I had. Maybe they changed it now who knows. I wouldn't be surprised with...

Evolution of H-Axis Washing Machines From Semi to Fully Automatic

Whirlpool had a circulation spray system in the 50s. That was decades before Zanussi.

Pierre listen to sound advice. Find yourself a good refurbished direct drive. It's worth it.

    new tide original scent

That's where I differ. I like the Tide how it used to smell in the seventies and eighties. Tide shouldn't be smelling all fruity and floral... Yuck

    Kenmore Auto Temp

I don't know but this looks like a very early 27" machine. Around 86-87 ?

My latest find - whirlpool 1600 Australian Made

I do also Pete. When I had the Kenmore hooked up I was always banging my elbow into that raised side lid.

My latest find - whirlpool 1600 Australian Made

With the overhang in back it looks like a Maytag. Really cool looking machine.
