    Fridgedaire D3T-1

Does anyone have a replacement idea? I found 1 roller on e bay. has anyone retro fitted with another roller? I hate to scrap this dryer for lack of rollers because the matching washer is in great shape

    Fridgedaire D3T-1

Did all 1 to 18 dryers use the same rollers/idler/ belt? Does anybody have part numbers or source for these? I can't find a parts list for this model.

Starching Shirt Collars, tips and techniques?

When ironing collars I was taught to iron from the points toward the middle back. If there is any extra fabric in the collar it will make small pucker in back so the front points always lay smooth and neat.

    Sarah's Country House Update

I don't know how old your pressure tank is but the one I grew up with and had in my first home did not have a bladder-just a bubble of air. when we noticed a change in water pressure or heard the pump kicking on and off rapidly we knew the tank was "water logged"(about twice a year) and dad...

    Kitchen Exhaust Fan, circa 1953

I would try ammonia. Spray it down well then put into a plastic bag for a few hours. I have done this with stove burner rings and had great results.

    Maytag DE806 Dryer

The times are right and the damp dry runs less than 15 seconds. It has the 2 bars but the brush on the sensor was bad (crumbed into tiny pieces) and I could not find a replacement so I took it to the motor repair place in town-they did not have a brush to fit but gave me one to file down. The...

    Maytag DE806 Dryer

Could someone tell me the cycling temps for regular and p.press ? How long should they run on these cycles before they stop if they are empty ? Just got one and it seems to take a long time before the sensor shut it off. The high limit thermostat had burn wires so I replaced it. I thought maybe...

    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Seventeen

On the Hotpoint washer it says 14lb "selective Load". What is a selective load?

    1986 Whirlpool belt drive

My aunt had this model washer. washed for a family of 5 and was a real workhorse. It moved with them a few times and ended up in a damp basement. They moved and left it behind. It could still be washing for someone if it did not turn into a pile of rust.

You Tube: I Washed My Clothes With 60 Year Old Detergent in A 40 Year Old Washer

Old Detergent I wonder how the detergent chemicals would be broken down after 60 or 70 years? If this was stored in a card board box moisture, air, ect might change the chemical compound.

    Harvest gold Geneva kitchen

The base cabinet for the stovetop looks odd with the rest of the cabinets. It's the shape of the sink base of my Youngstown cabinets with the curved front. None of the other cabinets in this kitchen have that.

    Older GE 'fridge

GE refrigerator That must be a repaint!?! My mother-in-law had that same frig that she used as an extra on the back porch, and she painted it that same brown color to blend in to the paneling. She did an excellent job and if you didn't know it started life white you would not know.

    POD 11-26-19 WH L-6, LB6 vs RL-1

tilt tub It was suppose to increase washing ability by having the clothes slide over the "scrubber cone" on the back of the tub. I think it was all gimmick- It tilted back naturally as the tub got heavier so the ad boys used it as a selling point. Westinghouse slant fronts were basically one...

What the heck am I looking at here?

The agitator is the same one the spindrier used on lower models. I used it and it did not circulate the clothes very well. The spindrier tub appears to be larger so it might work fine in the smaller tub

Opportunity to purchase an Easy Spindrier...

I just did my laundry last week in one. The pump is the real weak point in these plus the levers are moving rods which can be problematic. They offered 2 types of agitator, the lower end one doesn't move the clothes very well. I don't know were in Ohio (I'm north central) you are from but if you...

    Westinghouse washing machine 1940’s???

Just a hint; Start the washer and add the clothes as it agitates. Add until roll over becomes sluggish. Any wringer washer instruction I have ever read have you start agitation before adding clothes. You may want to check your water diverter under the wringer, it looks like it is not switching...

    BASED on POD 10/13/2019

When I was a slip of a boy, family friends had this model with the variable agitator. They asked me to look at it because it wasn't pumping out correctly. When I talked to her and asked if she liked it she was unaware that the agitator fins moved! She had never adjusted them. When I tried they...

    Westinghouse washing machine 1940’s???

big three I have one hooked up to a gasoline engine (big 3- could be powered by 1.hand,2.gas, 3.electric). The wash action is not that great(better than scrubbing by hand) and I wouldn't want to do my good clothes in zinc lined copper tub.
