    POD 1/7/2019 Hotpoint Automatic Washer

I'm surprised I hadn't noticed it before, but the washer front has a mild likeness to BD Canadian Kenmore and Inglis models of that time period. I've seen this POD many times but I had not caught that before. Happy New Year, James

    POD 4/29/08

I had asked this previously, but forgot the answer, and cannot locate the thread. What version of Kenmore are these machines? Originally I thought these were the Canadian versions, but I remember somebody telling me they were not. These look very much like the 700, and 900 models offered in...

    Maytag A206 Rinse Temp Question:

On the Maytag A206 that I had growing up, it had the three basic temperature selections: Hot, Warm, Cold. All rinses were cold, at least on the Permanant Press cycle. However for some reason I remember that on the regular cycle there was a warm rinse after a hot or warm wash. Am I remembering...

    POD 12/29/07 Kenmores

I noticed that the dryers have side swinging doors, and the indentations on the lower part of the cabinets look somewhat different than anything I've seen before. Are these the Canadian model counterparts to Kenmores sold in the U.S? I'm guessing these are the 1968 lineup. Have a good one, James

    Maytag A606 for $50

I remember a neighbor of mine had this exact machine. It hummed quietly through the cycle, and had the classic timer that snapped, instead of clicked. Note: It says it could handle up to 20lbs. I do not know how much these were able to handle, but it sounds like it had a few overloads. I guess...

She Was A Maytag With A Body Like A Whirlpool.

Went to Home Depot today, and took a look the new Whirltags. I like that they are center dials, which of course was reminiscent of former Maytag design. Funny thing is, since it has smaller dials for load size, water temp, etc., on both sides of the dial, it reminds me of the center dial...

    POD.

Great Brastemp. I love that console design. It closely resembles the one on the 24" RCA Whirlpool my grandmother had. Brings back good memories. James

    KDS18 in Massachusetts

Beautiful dishwasher. My grandmother got that model in stainless steel as a Christmas present in 1976 from my uncle. Every time we visited, I was always the one to start it after the dinner dishes were loaded. Have a good one, James

    Ideas to the year?

My childhood washer Definitely an A206. The only difference between this washer and the one I grew up with, is mine did not have that faux pilot light fixture over the dial. These models were sold between 1966 and 1972 or 3. Ours was a '72 model which lasted until 1999 without once having to be...

    Pushbutton Kenmore Pair

Very nice looking pair, minus the dirt and clutter. Definitely the 900 set from late 60s early 70s with the Vari-Flex agitator. These would likely have the QuietPak which would make them purr like kittens. Hope they are grabbed by a club member. Have a good one, James

    Whirlpool washer in SunnyYellow

Beautiful washer. I once saw a Coppertone model of a washer containing all of these features, but it was a slightly older model IIRC. This washer is at earliest a 1971 model, as that was the first year of the pushbutton lid switch shown in Pic # 5. These lint filters are the best catchers...
