    Speed Queen Australia

Here is a link to SQ products in Oz. I hope it isn't geo-blocked. They don't sell the agi-tub version of Speed Queen here. https://speedqueenhome.com.au/#topload

    Fellow Australians

Can you help identify the large appliance in the screen shot and share your knowledge, if you know what this is. This comes from a short film on YouTube called 'Life in Australia - Geelong' dated 1966. [this post was last edited: 3/22/2021-21:24]

Breaks won't release for spin cycle

Today, I've serviced my SQ top loader. It's been a stellar performer for 12 years and it was time to give it some tlc. I've put a new belt in, cleaned everything on the inside and installed a new timer; the old one was misbehaving (not advancing properly or consistently). After my loving...

Look at what I found at Costco today

These look like commercial machines for home use.

Need some help sourcing blade assembly (and jug? if not sold separately)...

...for my GE Instablend 14 - which dates back to early 80s. The Jug is plastic and in reasonable nick still, but the blade assembly doesn't have a seal anymore and fluid leaks out through the blade shaft. There is no part number on either the blade assembly or the jug. The blender was...

Kirkland Signature Detergent - not too foul.

In fact it's really good. Bought a 28 lbs tub from Costco at very reasonable cost. It doesn't have an ingredients list on the tub and I am assuming that it is phosphate free, but it cleans very well. Whilst washing it develops a slight ammonia smell, it is very low sudsing and rinses out good...

What are we looking at here?

I chanced upon this on youtube. I presume it is Italian in origin and supposedly from 1970. I don't know if Kitchenaid had a hand in this, but it does look like a hybrid of some sort. No idea if the guy who posted these is already a forum member, but he has a lot of really interesting stuff and...

My Speed Queen TL is getting noisy!

Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed a new sound that I find disturbing. During agitation it makes a noise that sounds like a chain constantly slipping off a gearwheel. Agitation is fine, it's not missing strokes and there is no problem with spinning. Is this some kind of transmission...

    Oohlala!

MacDonalds has brought out a new advertisement in France. I wonder if we will see something similar here in Oz or in the States. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/1062970/mcdonalds-goes-gay-in-new-tv-ad

    I need protection!

Any advice from our AW.org computer experts is deeply appreciated. I bought my DELL PC, running Vista, early last year and with it came Norton Anti Virus software. The software expired yesterday and I keep getting renewal requests, which require the spending of $$$$. I don't really like Norton...

Looks like gays in the military will soon be able to tell if asked

This is good news indeed. Lets see if there will be a mass-exodus from the US forces as a result of overturning DADT. All those poor, nervous heterosexuals who are going to be at the mercy of out and proud homosexuals checking them out in the showers and sneaking into their bunks at night to...

Gay Sex Scandal in Australian State Politics

I am posting a tele interview on a current gay sex scandal where the NSW Minister for Transport was spotted leaving a gay sex venue. I would like some feedback from forum members how you compare the way this is being discussed in this particular interview and compare it with the way that the US...

    Horses for Courses

Now here is something that I won't forget in a hurry. Not really sure if that is good or bad, but it certainly is unusual. WARNING! If you are offended by transvestism and animal noises don't watch this.
