    6 months on

Well around 6 months on and the F&P FL is going strong, still washing better(well I believe anyway), than the old LG TL, minimal linting, better stain removal, and less general wear and tear on the clothes. I was lucky recently and found a place which still has Spree detergent, nice light...

    Detergents for both TL&FL.

This has been puzzling me for a little while now, seeing as most of the detergents nowadays are formulated for both top loaders and front loaders, unlike previously, have all detergents now really just been changed to front load formula anyway?, and if this is the case, would they still be...

The new F&P front loader 3 weeks on

Hard to believe we've had the new F&P FL for almost a month already, and so far it has exceeded my expectations on every level. The clothing has really never looked cleaner, barely any trace of linting and virtually dry when removed from the drum. It got a real test last weekend when my...

Having a real problem with the LG Turbodrum recently, load after load of ordinary daily clothes and underwear are coming out with quite a bit of pilling and lint on them. Not sure what might be causing the problem as we separate all loads into their various batches, do not overdose on...

Is Henkel up to something here

I clicked on the Colgate-Palmolive Australian website, just to see if Henkel who acquired C.P's Australian laundry division back in August last year. Aldi Trimat Advanced liquid

Tried yet another different detergent recently, Aldi's Trimat Advanced Formula Liquid when pouring I noticed it is a little thicker than liquid Surf and Fab but not as thick and gluggy like Dynamo and Cold Power. Washed a load of underwear in warm water with 1.25 capfuls and results were very...

New Surf powder and liquid Fab for delicates

There are a couple of new products in the market now, I noticed yesterday in the local Woolworths Surf powder with built in fabric softener, which would actually turn me off buying it as I am not a fan of fabric softener, so I hope they are not replacing the whole Surf range with this new formula...

    Tried a generic powder today

Last shopping time I bought a box of Woolworths Select Clean powder to give a try and found the results were not too bad for a generic brand. It is not as good as Omo,Cold Power Radiant etc, but I feel it actually does give a better clean than other mid range detergents. It comes in an unusual...

Who in Australia remembers this old detergent?

For sale on ebay for $15, a box of old Ajax powder with the famous blue beads of bleach!, had one of the best fragrances that I remember and was a powerful detergent as well. If I remember correctly Ajax and Drive at that particular time were the only powders which contained sodium perborate.

Who is Australia remembers this old detergent

This certainly brings back some memories of when I used to be young. Who remembers Punch and who remembers Gwen Plumb. Mind you I wish I could find some memories of Phase 2 Torrent detergent, but I guess that one is just going to have to be a distant memory of mine.
