    Speed Queen AWN 432

I can not believe I am actually making a post about a modern machine!  However, I recently acquired a pre-owned Speed Queen AWN 432 set with the assistance of fellow club member Bob Orear.  It took quite a bit of cleaning up and a new wire and fuse on the dryer.  The previous owner was a heavy...

    A new discovery

All these years I've had Frigidaire washers and I just made a new discovery this evening.  Here is my '67 Rapidry washing sheets in Tide and I have always used my machines with the cap on the agitator.   The cap on this machine has always been loose and I kept it in place with a rubber band...

    Frigidaire 1-18 Dryer Felt Seal

Could anyone here identify what is used as a replacement for the felt seal on 1-18 dryers?  I seem to remember some mention of it here before and something about a Maytag seal as a suitable replacement?  I have searched our archives with no help to be found.   Thanks, Joe

    The Frigidaires are busy!

I have company visiting this month which means extra of everything, laundry included.  These three gals have been busy lately and they make keeping up with all the wash a breeze.

Posted below is a photo of a water bellows that has been on my Rapidry Rollermatic for two years.  Take a note of the hole in the side of it.  Below is another such smaller hole and yet another on the opposite side that is not pictured.  This will be the third bellows I have installed on this...

    A question about Food Processors

Guys I need some advice.  Mom's 80's Hamilton Beach food processor has bit the dust.  Dad and I want to get her a new one for Christmas and my default is to get a Kitchen Aid.  I question however if it is the best.  I'd like to hear opinions from those who are more well versed in this area than...

    1-18 dryer help needed

Per my original post http://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?43319  I'm still at it with the 1-18 dryer.  There is so much I don't understand when it comes to diagnosing this.  In order to test the heater do I have to remove the 2 wires from the heater?  How to I test the...

    Filtrator help needed.

I'm having a bad run of luck with my dryers.  Now the Filtrator is down.  I have reason to believe that the reset button is faulty.  I want to replace this button and I have a spare but how do I access this properly?  As you can see here I have removed the top, it does not appear that the back...
