    Detached Deep Well??

I found this recently and can't find much information about it. The Deep Well works and is great shape except for a small dent in the front and part of the heat control numbers are missing. There is no tag or label on it, so no model or serial number. It matches the 1949 Westinghouse kitchen...

FABULON A friend sent a link to this (I'm not sure why exactly, not my taste or style) Check out the "Madamism" link under the pics of Dolly. There are some pretty funny things on the site. The light fixture is interesting as well. This really looks like a Toggle site! And I will be very...

    Best of...

Craigslist..Date: 2004-12-07, 1:04PM CST A friend sent this to me, from Craigslist and having seen more than a few tacky decorations around town I had to share it. I’ll probably get flamed for this, but it has to be said: I hate Christmas. Everything about the Christmas season irritates...

    Heritage/genealogy

ok, here is one thing I assist people with on a daily basis, figuring out their genealogy. A president is always looked at very close in this aspect. At the end of this chart you will see the percentage of english, swiss, german, irish, etc Obama has. This chart is but a fraction of what you...

    Servel gas refrigerator

It would be cool to find a 1950's Servel gas refrigerator - with an ice maker. They invented automatic ice makers in refrigerators, and the maker was very much like a Whirlpool style -with the fingers on a comb like device which turns out crescent shaped cubes. I THINK servel sold their patent...

    The "New" 49 Westinghouse Range

Well, it finally got into place this past Saturday. Many THANKS to Ralph! The '49 Westinghouse Range arrived last week. I didn't get a chance to paint before it arrived but I'm glad it's here. I can't believe what great shape and condition it's in. Ralph's Mom really took great care of this gem...

The Magical World of Electric Irons.

Staying home with a bad cold and having to get all those damned shots because a wild dog bit and scratched the devil out of my hands and arms tuesday is no fun. In between naps and meds I found this really neat website. http://www.jitterbuzz.com/indirn.html

    Television under the Swastika

Germany had television service June 1935 to the Fall of 1944. This documentary gives a fascinating look into the television industry under the nazi regime. There is a really great segment showing the American Olympic team in 1936 (HUNKS!!). It runs 54 minutes and is well worth the time...

    How to sing the blues

Numbers 5, 6, 7 and 12 are my favorite. We should write a Blues song about the current financial mess. How to Sing The Blues: (attrib. to Memphis Earlene Gray with help from Uncle Plunky) 1. Most blues begin "woke up this morning." 2. "I got a good woman" is a bad way to begin the blues...

    Chicken for Dessert

I thought this looked interesting and since it a recipe over a thousand years old I thought I would give it a try this weekend. I was suprised to see at the end "..don't try this at home.." I think I will anyway. Even if it does not suite modern tastes the pups will get it as a treat perhaps...

    Living in the past.

A really neat article about some couples that have "moved back" to the 1950's, 40's and even the 1930's. Good detail work in the homes! This is sort of what I'm doing with my 1790's house but with some modern must haves (bathroom, kitchen and of course applainces)...
