The short life of a Whirlpool Duet

I picked this up at a local Rent-A-Center. It cleaned up nice, and overall the condition seems reasonable. But sadly, it has a few issues and may be on its last legs. It's harder to tell by looking at the outside. But rather, one must pear under the toe panel to get an idea of its overall...

How about a new coppertone Lady-K Roto-Rack dishwasher?

Seller mentions that it has no issues, says "let's make a deal". But of course, he didn't forget to leave his contact number. So here it is, folks. Ya better go grab it before my truck gets fixed! NorfolkSouthern On none other than Craigslist, of course...

    Metal twin-tub Hoovers?

Yes, those are aluminum lids, and almost everything else is sheet metal and stainless steel. It will agitate. It will spin. It won't pump. And it LEAKS. Feel free to chime in! NorfolkSouthern

Can a Frigidaire 1-18 gas dryer be converted to electric?

Last month, I took home the Frigidaire 1-18 gas dryer as part of my set. Unfortunately, I am unable to use it because I don't have a gas hookup. Does anybody have any experience working on them? Is there any possibility that this one can be converted to use a 220 electric outlet? NorfolkSouthern

    This is for Soberleaf!

Along with the pig iron my neighbor had on the back of his truck, was THIS dishwasher along with the Zerowatt front loader from my other thread. The outer paint looks a bit weathered, and there was quite a bit of dirt that accumulated over the years. NorfolkSouthern

Can someone in the UK identify this washer?

I put up a thread on the vintage forum, but didn't get a response. So, I'm thinking it could be something newer. I got it from a scrapper, plugged it in, and it works! Could this possibly be a Hoover or Hotpoint? It was made in Italy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! NorfolkSouthern

Indesit? Hotpoint? Candy? I got it, but what is it?

OK, so my buddy the scrapper was out doing his thing, and among the stuff he picked up was this washing machine, a couple old rusted fans, and a dishwasher. More on the dishwasher later. Well, he obviously gets more from me than the metal recycler would give him, so I always get first dibs. So...

    My grandmother's Pulsamatic

While doing a search for a specific model of vintage Frigidaire, I came across one of Robert's videos. This one is of a Pulsamatic, an extremely rare machine. The video that Robert made very accurately reproduces the sound and action. Hers was not a control tower. Instead, it had a shiny steel...

    Whirlpool Calypso control panel

I am just wondering how many folks out there collect Whirlpool Calypso washers. The cabinet on this one was literally crushed on the front end, the sides were badly abraded from rubbing on other appliances and apparently being slammed about by its former owner, before being kicked and dumped its...

    Found a Hotpoint "Rim Flo"

I'm not sure how common these are, but some leads pointed to what appears to be a TOL model. Can anybody give an idea of what year this one was made? I cleaned and ran it several times, there appear to be no problems. There is no rust on the inner cabinet, but the inner tub has it in the usual...

    GE Filter Flo in Detroit

Could this be worth what they're asking?

It's a late-model GE Filter Flo, loaded, with a matching dryer. They look to be immaculate! What do you think? NorfolkSouthern http://detroit.craigslist.org/hsh/1220060255.html

Why can't they just throw these in the dumpster?

These stackable Frigidaires are as common as dirt. I saw THREE Craigslist listings for them. They just seem to come out of the cracks, like roaches! NorfolkSouthern http://detroit.craigslist.org/hsh/1212695240.html

Maytag Neptune with dryer rack on Craigslist

Heads up! I haven't seen or heard of a dryer equipped with a hanger rack since before Maytag discontinued them. Nor have I ever seen one in an appliance outlet. Well, here's your chance to have your very own, to supplement your late-run Maytag collection. As elusive, I'm sure, as the Neptune top...

Making a shredmore earn its keep?

Well, I took out my rototiller and made some money today. But, there was so much dirt and sand in my old tennis shoes, I could never wear them without my socks getting dirty. On the outside, they're a shade of yellow/brown when they should be white. And I just emptied out about a bushel of sand...

Fun with Alice, the Frigidaire 1-18!

Well, folks. I just figured I'd add some photos of Alice at play. Here, you can see him batting around a few detailing towels. Using All powdered detergent, I set him on slow agitation to help keep the suds down. It all rinsed out just fine, in spite of the slow spin speed. I added an extra...

    HUGE DD KitchenAid "Mixer" sighting!

OK, so I had to grab your attention, thinking you would respond to an "off-topic" thread. Gocha! Hah. OK, so I actually found something that matches here quite well, although it probably aught to be listed in the classics. But since it was made in the early 1990's, we're still a few years off...
