    Need some front loader help.

We have a 5 year old Whirlpool Duet WFW9150WW00 that is giving me an F7E1 error code, washer quits half way through the wash cycle. From what I've found, this error code would be for the motor tachometer. So what does this mean? Complete replacement of the motor? Any suggestions would be...

    My new old washer.

Been awhile since I've posted! Due to our five year old Whirlpool Duet front loader dying on us (different thread), my wife and I were left scrambling for a washer. Luckily, my brother and sister in law had just purchased a new home. The shed out back contained a nice 80 Series Kenmore top...

    Pushed into Medium Spin Speed....

After all the horror stories I've read about bearing failures on the Whirlpool Duet's, I've felt obligated into putting my 2 year old front loading Duet 9150WW on a Medium spin speed. I believe this is 1,000 RPM's. High spin is 1,200 RPM's, if I'm correct. Am I wrong for doing this? Am I...

    For Your Viewing Pleasure....

Here's a YouTube video of my '96 Tag with some agitation and a spin. Please excuse the somewhat choppy video...was recorded with my Droid. Not very many suds in the wash water either as I'm still using up the HE detergent. This is my workhorse, normally washing my work uniforms twice a week...

    Dependable Care Question.....

I've just noticed on my 16 year old Maytag washer a few small rust spots developing on the bottom side of the outer wash basket. I'm just curious if this is something that should be taken care of now, or can go for awhile? I have no idea on how thick the steel is on the bottom of the tub...

    Question about Water Fill Level......

My question is this: Is there a way I can bump the water fill level up at all? Another 2 inches of water makes ALL the difference with decent turn over in this machine. I can stand there while it fills and hold the water level switch in the "reset" position, but it's getting to be a PITA...

    Back in business!

So I got my new damper pads in the mail today, and got them replaced. Was actually a pretty easy job to do, dealing with the springs was the worst part of the job. Seems like I caught the problem just in time, and there was no gouging to the zinc aluminum dome. I absolutely love the...

    Question for redcarpetdrew....

Well, I'm gonna have to change those damper pads on my Maytag that you pointed out to me. Could you give me a rough idea of what I'm going to have to do to get to the damper? It would be greatly appreciated! Aaron

Picked up a Maytag Dependable Care for FREE!

So, score one for me! Woman at work purchased a new set of front loaders and I happend to ask what she was going to do with her old set and what kind they were. She told me that they were Maytags about 10 or so years old, and that the dryer was already gone...and the washer was going to the...

    Original Scent HE powdered Tide...

So I finally got through the HE Liquid Tide from when I bought my machine awhile back and decided to switch to powder. I'm somewhat disappointed with the Tide powder...its smells NOTHING like the "Original Scent" liquid. What gives here? Because its powder? Aaron

Does this seem like a good deal?

Even though he states its a Whirlpool Duet, its really a Kenmore HE3...same thing I guess. Seems like a pretty decent deal since it also includes the base. What do you guys think? I already have a new Duet...so this would be something to play around with I guess. I'm also wondering if I could...

    Windows 7

How many of you are currently running Windows 7 and are you happy with it? Last summer when I bought my Toshiba laptop, it had Windows Vista. I hated it from the beginning...MEMORY HOG and a really slow operating system. I then downloaded a Beta version of Windows 7 and ran that until the...

    Ewwww.....

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I roadtripped a few hours away and ended up at her aunts house. Upon arrival, I had to relieve myself pretty badly...lol. The bathroom I used downstairs also contains a front-load washer and dryer. They are a Frigidaire matching set. After going to the bathroom I...

    WHY IN GODS NAME....

....does my new Whirlpool Duet F/L use hot and cold water when I put the temp selector on just cold? I used the Delicate cycle for the very first time today, and you can either use Cold or Warm for the wash cycle and a spin speed of Low ONLY. What I noticed was how it was letting in both hot...

    Should I do this?

Well, I've had my Whirlpool Duet FL for a couple months now and I just received a letter from the Whirlpool Company offering me an extended warranty. It's currently covered under just a one year warranty. Pricing: One year extended- $100.65 or 3 payments of $35.56 Two year extended-...

    Spider Arm woes....

I was just sitting here, and thought..."why don't these manufacturers keep the aluminum arm, but before installing them...coat them with some sort of plastic?" I would think this would solve the failure of the spider arm on alot of the FL's. Hmmm....either that or they want it to fail in 5...
