Who wants a BD and DD bearing tool?

I have a bearing install and removal tool for both BD and DD machines. I no longer need them since I have decided to stop collecting altogether and just observe from afar. They have all the mandrels for both style of centre posts and bearing styles. Ideally I'd like this tool to be a...

    Anyone want an HA806 set?

I too want to thin the herd. I don't have any photos of them since they're in storage, and the logistics of hauling them out for a photo is a lot of work. The washer is an HA806. I put a new pump, motor glides, damper, new water valves, belts, and tub bearing. The transmission agitator shaft...

Maytag dryer bell dongs, not dings.

DE712 dryer of mine, the bell makes more of a dong/thud sound. I want to check out the solenoid, but before I do does anyone have an idea of where I should look? Everything moves and isn't obstructed in the bell/solenoid mechanism.

    DWU9962 "Blocked drain" nonsense

So I had parts from a DWU9962 I picked up years ago and I assembled them in to a functional machine the other day. I ran the test cycle and everything came back fine with exception of the rinse aid dispenser (since I dont have one with the sensor in it, so the current sensor is unplugged), and a...

A near final Canadian filter flo

This popped up on Kijiji for $20, couldnt lose. Its a TOL Canadian filter flo from April of 1993, just before NAFTA became a thing. I wanted this machine since it was unique, being TOL, and since I was also looking for a machine with a good outer tub and transmission.   However, as you will...

    Porcelain on steel rusting

My KDS-21 has the cancer around the rinse aid dispenser. About half of the bottom portion of the cut out has rust, and Ive subsequently taken the machine out of service since it seemed to spread pretty quickly. Has anyone repaired rust on porcelain on steel?

    Automatic Washer Water Consumption

What would be the water consumption for all our favorite machines, like Frigidaires, Whirlpools, Kenmores, Maytags, GEs, Hotpoints, on a full load?   I know the pre orbital Maytags are around 150-170 litres per cycle, or 40-44 US gallons for a complete cycle.   I wonder what a filter flo...

US front loaders from the 70s and 80s

Aside from Westinghouse, which brands made front load washers during the 70s and 80s for home use? Post pictures if you can!   Also, what is the model of Westinghouse front loader they made during that time?

Near end of the line, bottom of the line, Filter Flo acquisition

Ive missed a few FFs that have came up on Kijiji, but finally one broke though which I was able to buy. A single speed, BOL FF made in Feb of 1993, near the end of the production line. Its made in the USA which is interesting since all of the GE machines Ive bought were made here in Canada by...

GSD2800 err I mean GSB2800 Progress So Far

So, some may remember I picked up the Canadian version of the GSD2800 almost two years ago. The display was acting up, it seemed to get mad about over filling, and it also just gave up when it couldnt open the detergent dispenser. I couldnt get the tank and, well 95% of it since it was so rotten...

One final rinse, or two final rinses?

The KDS-21 I have only does one final rinse, and so does the new Maytag MDB9000 electronic machine I have. At first I was skeptical of only one final rinse, however, on the KDS-21 I havent noticed any lack of performance. Most machines I have encountered with two final rinses have the first...

    Early MDB IntelliClean find

I just bought this today, its a MDB9000 IntelliClean. Would this be the first of the MDB series, and a transitional series until the MDB9100 “Auto Clean” button machines? Perhaps a redesigned machine after the whole DWU fire fiasco? I have a DWU9962 and this has a different sensor than that...

    DWU9962 Maytag Intellisense

Does anyone have a black control panel and other parts they are willing to sell me?

    Neptune Valve Chatter

Anyone have issues on the MAH3000 or 4000 Neptunes with water valves chattering?   I replaced the water valves, and tried a backup timer but occasionally as the machine is working its way through the cycle and hits a timer increment to fill, sometimes the valves chatter a bit before fully...

    GE Potscrubber motor swap

Endless searching turns up little results for this inquiry.   But what is the consensus of switching the old, shaded pole motor out to the newer induction motor using the kit on GE dishwashers? Some say the multi orbit wash arms dont work as well, but the non oscillating wash arms are fine...

Anyone have a top and bottom rack for a KDS-21? Looking to buy some.

    Holes in clothes

Lately I’ve noticed some of my clothes have holes in them like what’s shown in the picture below. Some shirts just have one, some have a few near the belt line. NOW, I’m trying to figure out and rule out the washing machine. I always wash clothes like shirts separate from pants. Always warm...

    Kitchenaid Motors

My KDS-21 doesnt have the typical round KA motor like the one in the pic below. It looks like a WP Power Clean like motor, square like in picture two. Has anyone replaced bearings on these motors? I want to prepare for a bearing change in the future, stock parts. Keep in mind mine is a Canadian...

    Favourite Nomenclature

So, what are your favourite terms, wording, nomenclature etc... that you found on appliances?    I always liked how Maytag called the gentle cycle Delicate. I also think the Filter-Flo name is cool, rinse & hold, and the name Perma Press for permanent press.    Bonus points for pictures.
