Thought this might be of some interest, as I've not heard about it before. People complain about the build quality of Electrolux domestic front-loaders, but it looks like they will sell this commercial-grade version to domestic customers, and hopefully it'll prove durable in a domestic...

I've also seen adverts for Easy combos under the "Combomatic" name - does this predate them? "Vibration-free", but it's a hard-mount... what's the spin speed, 200rpm? Bet they just weren't up to paying Bendix's patent license fees... Do any Easy combos survive now?

Always liked the look of these, with the big round control knobs and stainless steel panel & tub. Anyone got any pictures of the dryers? There are very few around, and I'd be interested to see a drum shot.

I do like the look of the Frigidaire appliances of this era. Why the aforementioned wording, though? I initially assumed it had to be some kind of UK royal connection, aimed at Anglophile Americans, but 1959 was a mere 7 years into QE2's ongoing reign...

Presumably this is part of the Unimatic series? Vertical agitation? How does the machine actually propel the agitator? I might guess at a motor driving a cam continuously, with a second motor for the spin? I know absolutely nothing about these, except that I think they look nice.

One wonders what the competitors are? Brand B looks like a GE, Brand C a Maytag? Not sure what Brand A is - the only thing I can think of is Whirlpool, but then given WP made the Kenmore too, I'm not sure they'd appreciate Sears advertising against them!

Handsome-looking machines - do any of these survive? The Dispensomat feature was so ahead of its time. Did these Norge washers have the same rather brutal agitation as the simpler machines featured in the POD back on the 17th January? Also, when were these machines in production?

You'd never get away with such patronisingly discriminatory advertising today, thank goodness. Still, the dryer itself seems to have several features which might be considered ahead of its time, or otherwise sensible and practical (e.g. the drop-down load door!).

Never seen one of these before, am I right in suggesting it's from circa 1953, just before the round-door "Gyramatic" (sic) was introduced? Was this a sprung soft-mount like the later machines? Known dimensions? Looks like the control panel is on the door, like the modern Hotpoint Aqualtis.

I'm guessing this is essentially a Duomatic, slimmed down six inches and deprived of the drying side? There is a very similar machine in the collection of "chestermikeuk", I believe badged as a Gyramatic. His has no heater, apparently, and spins at 600rpm. I wonder why these spun at 525rpm when...
