Maytag A606 drive pulley install and stop lug adjustment
I'm moving ahead with my A606 repair. I'm at the assembly stage and I'm pulling a brain fart. I'm reassembling the drive pulley and stop/drive lug. As I spin the drive pulley on to the drive shaft it spins right up until it bottoms against the brake housing. That can't be right??? I'm not quite... -

Revisit Maytag A606 Agitator removal
Well fellas, I've managed to break down my A606 to the point of finding my agitation whoa's. The 4-groove pin that retains the agitation pinion gear broke (only half of it) and got itself wedged between the housing and the intermediate gear. Maytag A606 (serial # 596342YH) agitator removal
My trusty 34 yr old Maytag is starting to show it's age. After the initial fill she just doesn't want to agitate. Yes I can turn the drive pulley at the bottom but it's very hard and stiff. Motor trips out on overload. Motor and belt are fine. Tranny just too stiff to be driven by the motor. I'm...
