Anybody have information about this Washer?

It's an LG WM9500HKA; and although I swore off of LG appliances because they didn't have a replacement circuit board for one of the best washers I've ever used, the pickings for large capacity machines are slim. I'm tempted because I could save some money and time avoiding the Dry Cleaners.

    Vintage Maytag Experts

Some more help please: I have an early A406 with the original Powerfin Agitator. I want to remove it but, before I destroy it:

It doesn't have a set-screw in the side of the agitator.

It has what looks like a huge Philips-head set of slots in a poly circle down inside...

    Vintage Maytag Experts

Within the 1960's model lineup, the A906, A806, A606, A206 (and maybe the A406 and A106) are the Motors, Pumps ,Transmissions and cabinets(forgetting about bleach dispensers) interchangeable? Is having two speeds a function of a different motor or is it some external control?

    NEW WASHERS?

Are there any new washing machine brands out there? I was always hoping that Panasonic/National would start marketing their wonderful Front Loaders in the US.

    Spiffy Hotpoint BOL

I'm almost tempted to buy this. Looks brand new and despite its cheapish exterior, it looks like a respectable dishwasher on the inside. The tub looks like speckled porcelain enamel or is it plastisol cleverly camouflaged? What's that weird vent on the inside top?

    Maytag experts, I need advice

A close friend just called and asked me for advice for her parents' old Maytag washer which, IIRC is an A702. It's making a slight burning smell and one of the people in the house says they "thought" they saw some smoke. I'm going over there tomorrow for dinner and I plan to look at it...

Beautiful 40" GE Double Oven Range needs help

I was lucky enough to find this gorgeous self-cleaning P*7 electric range for my friends Jan and Rick who have been working a 1967 Hotpoint double-oven range to its inevitable death (they were down to one working burner and only the smaller oven functioned for baking, not broiling). I told them...

    The Brava Oven

Do any of you have any experience with the new Brava oven that, purportedly, cooks food with halogen light bulbs? I read an interesting article about them in an issue of Popular Mechanics. It was given to me by a friend who is considering buying one. If this system works as advertised, I...

    Samsung and Patagonia??

Interesting article but I will never buy a Front Loader without a pump filter access door. https://www.fastcompany.com/90904159/why-patagonia-helped-samsung-redesign-the-washing-machine"

    Rollermatics

I am refining a lot of old illustrations and I'm focusing on GM Frigidaire machines. I need a lot of help with these machines so I'm going to post these questions one at a time hoping to solicit responses, images, maybe cut-sheets that aren't in the archives yet. Right now I'm focusing on...

    Attention, Experts please: advice needed

I just bought a pail of Sodium Tripolyphosphate from the Chemistry Store and there are no instructions on amounts to use. How much of this stuff should/can one use in a typical load of laundry? And can you mix it with all the non-phosphate detergents from the grocery store? Please advise...

    Tuesday funnies:

As much as I still respect the Maytag Family, here's Maytag A Go Go (Was NBC's "Laugh-In" a style icon in Newton, IA??). From a brochure on eBay; I tried to upload the link in Shoppers Square but it wouldn't accept it.

    Smelly laundry: TMI

I forgot a load of laundry which was left damp dried in the washer for a couple of days. It didn't smell bad when I rediscovered it, but, after drying, it reveals its inner stink when worn and body heat warms the fibers. What detergent/additive/whatever would be most effective at removing the...

    Impressive Antique Thermador Stove

In Holyoke, MA. I'm so tempted; I love thick coil burners and there are six of them. Ovens worry me a little, but this beauty has classic simple lines and a very fetching stainless steel top. Hard to guess the vintage. It reminds me of my uncle and his partner's L&H built-in wall oven and...

    Soot stains on fabrics

Do any of you know a method for removing soot stains from laundry? I know that they used to use soot to make India Ink; would that be relevant for removal?

    The Sunbeam Radiant

Couldn't have said it better. When I worked at Elgot Kitchens and Appliances in 1978, these chrome and Bakelite beauties were, by far, the most popular models in the store. https://www.theverge.com/22801890/sunbeam-radiant-control-toaster-t20-t35-vista?utm_source=pocket-newtab
