    Frigidaire Rapidry thoughts.......

I have a thought.. Unlike today's front loading washers,  which ramp up to the speed selected.. this is just a "scientific wild-ass guess, as one of my funnier friends says, Did Rapiddry lead to the somewhat(to me, at least, reduced life of the brake?  My SWAG is "possibly,"  What is your take...

Saw this right now, on Lowe's...LG

Saw a "thumbnail" of it on Facebook. "ColdWash" Said that it was a new development that makes a cold wash as effective as a warm one. Unless it has one of those tempering gizmos, I call B F S! Again LG Ok, I am now politely asking for clarification, please Lawrence/Maytagbear.

Did anyone ever use Dishwasher All?

As I have said before, Ma liked Cascade, and I liked Calgonite, when it was still made. We weren't too fond of Finish.......but we never tried Dishwasher all. Did it perform well? Lawrence/Maytagbear

    Belt/direct drive Whirlpool question

We had a belt drive Whirlpool Imperial (not the XII), and it ran well for a decent span, 1964-1978. My question is about the "D" shaped tub opening. It did not bother me, but it sure seemed to bug CR. Was there a functional reason for it, or was it just random? Thank you (in advance)...

    Thanksgiving 2019

Do you have dishwasher detergent? Bathroom tissue? Aluminum foil? Trash bags? Paper towels? Coffee, sweet (not hard) cider? or some soda pop? Uncle Gerry stopped drinking this year, and we are so grateful!! If you are going as a guest...a box of nicer chocolates...

    BASED on POD 10/13/2019

I am more interested in this "Variflex" agitator than in the rest of the LK...sorry, but true. Anyway, was this a real improvrement or just a gimmick? To me, it seems like more of a gimmick than a real advance in agitator design. Also, was this shade of green a real thing? Limited edition...

    POD 2-27-2019 Harvest Gold Frigidaires

OK, the offer is for either a "Goof Proof" washer, or a "Rapidry" washer. So, I wonder....how much slower was the "Goof Proof" high spin? Could they have combined Rapidry with "Goof Proof?" Lawrence/Maytagbear

    De-liming dishwashers?

This Elxux-idaire is my first dishwasher with a "stainess" steel tank. I am one of the very few in this building to use his/her dishwasher, and fewer still, to use one more than once a week. Depending on kitchen activity, I run the dishwasher 3-7 times a week. The sump area, especially...

I know there is a formula for this.....Amps into watts

However, at the moment, I forget it. Is it amps divided by watts, or what? Plus, I'll know where to look....when I need to know again. Also, if you have any questions electrical, this might be a reasonable place to ask them. Thank you in advance! Lawrence/Maytagbear

Once in a while, I like canned tuna

Has anyone had any experience with canned chicken? Chicken of the land. I don't always want to have tuna, because Rosa del Gata always demands some human tuna.......... I always give her a flatware (as opposed to measuring) teaspoonful every time..... However..... I now have trouble getting...

I forget if it was here, but.. "Spin Blend" Salad Dressing

Someone, here, or on Facebook asked if Spin Blend salad dressing was still being made. I saw a real life sighting today, 12/21/17 of more than one jar at an independent pharmacy/grocery chain in N. E. Ohio called Marc's. I looked at the label, it was not old stock, it had a 2018 "best before"...

    Persil at Walgreens!

I was at Walgreen's last night (October 18, 2016), and I always look at the detergent aisle......not just the smaller bottles of Original and Fresh, but the large bottles AND the pacs! I am so happy, and plan on buying a large bottle in November. Lawrence/Maytagbear

    Please help, if possible !

I have a soon to be one year old Toshiba Satellite running Windows 10. To me it is easier than 8.1, and considerably improved over Vista. However, I am having something of a time getting to the Start Menu. When I poke the Windows button between ALT and "FN,"** it's changed, and I can't find...

POD 6/10/19 Pearl Bailey White-Westinghouse Ad

Were there more of these print ads? I only remember two, this one for the Laundromat and matching dryer, and an ad for room/window air conditioners. The copy for the air conditioners was along the line of "why cool the whole house, if you're just sitting in the living room?" I do love Pearl...

    Method Spray Cleaner, French Lavendar

Good, effective, inexpensive at my Target, scent is mild, and does not linger. I am truly impressed with this cleaner! Lawrence/Maytagbear

    Kenmore POD, 2/27/16

At the bottom of the page, there is the Kenmore washer which fascinated/horrified me the most.....the one with the dial ON the panel......no backsplash, just a tiny edge at the back. Anyone ever see one outside of the store? Anyone here own one? I could only imagine them being bought for...

    POD 12/3/15 GE Versatronic

How long were these sold? Were they the repair headaache I imagine they were? Real advantage, or largely a gimmick? I believe in two speed washers, especially top loaders, but this just seems to be off. Your experience, please? Lawrence/Maytagbear

Missing recipe.......sweet (mild) red pepper soup

I have a LOT of mild red peppers. I've been eating them out of hand, in salads, and I am wanting my red pepper soup, but cannot find my recipe for it. It was originally from Southern Living magazine, but can't find the magazine or my index card......buttermilk, and garlic (just a clove or two...

    Your opinions, please! Oatmeal Cookies.........

I am starting an in depth thing on oatmeal cookies. Do you like them chewy and soft, or thin and crispy? Raisins or no raisins? Orange zest or no? Lots of cinnamon, or just some? My church, The United Church of Christ is having its every-two-years national gaathering ("General Synod") this...
