Tell me,does the thick rubber gasket on the old Westinghouse and White-Westinghouse tumbler washers itself get washed as the cycle goes on? If dirty clothes are being pushed in to load and "scrape" against that gasket, hopefully the now "contaminated" gasket gets cleansed. Thanks experts!

Has anyone,somehow, ever thought of modifying one of those wimpy spinning combos to greatly ramp up the spin? Perhaps a smaller pulley? Of course how to modify the suspension system or lack thereof would also come into play.
