Hey guys,
My grandmother had a Kitchenaid 4C mixer which my father gave away to someone... and now I'm looking for one. I'm curious to know what is and what is not fixable on them, and if anyone has found a way to adapt a bread hook to them.
Thanks!
Hey guys,
I'm helping friends restore a 1920s Easy model E wringer washer for daily use, and what oil should we use in the agitator transmission? This machine not documented anything like Maytag, and we want to mess it up.
Thanks!
Hey guys, a friend just bought a copper tub Easy wringer washer and intends to use it as the household washing machine. Does anyone have advice or recommendations as to detergents or wash times? So far I've not found an owner's manual, nor have the vintage laundry books on archive.org been of...
Hey guys,
I'm helping a friend settle an estate sale in Pasadena CA, and they have two antique fridges: a 1935ish Kelvinator belt drive and a 1938ish Coldspot. Both are untested, I can email bad cell phone pics I took if anyone is interested.
I live an hour away in Huntington Beach and can...
I just got back from this estate sale at 1325 W. Adams, Los Angeles. They still have all the big appliances, a couple vintage toasters, about 4 1920s-1930s Hoovers, and a lot of other stuff. Hope some local collectors find things they can use...
I have a buyer for my grandmother's Amana Radarange, but I need to transport it to the buyer several states away. Any ideas or suggestions on shipping it?
Thanks!
I know that farmhouses always had largish kitchens, but bungalows and track houses through the 50s around here always seemed to have small, almost cramped kitchens. When I read old architecture books they always champion that as "efficient" and "easy to run" and "labor saving."
When did the...
Hey Automaticwasher people,
I'm going out on a major limb here. I am a sedentary bearcub, and I'm about to do the action adventure of a lifetime. I will be riding in AIDS/LifeCycle 9. This June I will be bicycling 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It will take me seven days, and to do...
Hey guys,
I am going to be doing the AIDS/Lifecycle 2010. This is a 545 mile bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money for AIDS services and research. I haven't been on a bike in years (bearcub and proud) and am thrilled to get back into an activity while supporting a worthy...
I'm surprised no one's gone after this on yet. Its hard to find a 2 or 3 door with the original refrigeration unit.

Or at least parts for one. As best I can tell, this is a 1920s Montgomery Wards frame. I'll probably put in a modern crank, hub, and wheels. But either way it'll be cooler and more interestng than the "dime a dozen" cruisers in the neighborhood.
