The problem with that magnetic gizmo is that it will only work if the exhaust hole and wall hole pretty much line up. If they don't line up, you can still use it, but the vent run will take up 4" of space between the dryer and the wall.

The pins on the DD would be released when pulling out the yellow strap, but sometimes it didn't work and the pin would stay up and make the machine run rough, causing a service call.
