Class makes a big difference in determining the rate - you might want to try calling the 800 number listed on the site.. I paid less than $200 to ship a washer last year.

Try R & L Carriers (link below). I've used them before, and if 70s/80s guy will crate the washer for you they might be pretty reasonable.
It depends if they service both of your cities.
