Hi Jamie, the agitator just pulls off. You just have to get a firm grip on the bottom part of the agitator and give it a hard tug upwards. Also I believe a single piece agitator would work as the air bell coupling is the same on all GE toploaders. Your GE looks to be the same model as mine.
