    New Maytags Tall tubs advice

The funny thing about those new "HE" dishwashers is, if you look at the energy guide labels, they don't use any less energy than the non-HE machines....they're all about 305 KWH per year. Some of the non-HE models are slightly lower, some higher, depending on the model and manufacturer. My...

    New Maytags Tall tubs advice

It's the same damned motor they use in the KitchenAids, Kenmore TTs, Whirlpool TTs. It's a 1/4 HP, 3330 RPM side mount motor, 2.7 amp unit, max wattage is 350 watts, nominal wattage is 300 watts, according to their specs. It's got a pretty big pump attached to it, but I don't find the water...

    Saying Good-Bye to My Buddy

I know this is a very difficult time for everyone, especially those of us who love our babies more than life, but it highlights the importance of having the appropriate pet medical insurance. There are many inexpensive plans available, some that even cover routine well care like vaccinations...

    New Frigidaire FL!

Capacity Differences The energy star website advertises the Frigidaire's drum capacity in cubic feet based on the DOE standard, while manufacturers use the IEC standard, which just inflates the size of the drum because it takes into account the size of the drum with an agitator, which is about...

    New Frigidaire FL!

You know, these may persuade me to give serious consideration to replacing the Calypso...after all, it's 10 years old now and maybe needs a little vacation at this point!! That Max Fill feature has me dripping!! Will someone please buy one and try it out for us???? Please? It looks like...

    Uggh! Russian fakers

I've had pen pals for many years in foreign countries, like El Salvador and Columbia, who had fallen on bad times, and I've helped them out financially. Since we had long standing friendships, I wasn't concerned that I was being conned, and every time, they returned the money as soon as they...

Maybe not a Bob Load But!

The nice thing about the GE TT dishwashers is that dishes or bowls can be placed sideways on the top rack and they will clean just fine from the spray from the third wash arm as it sprays a significant volume of water down and sideways. I loaded mine that way all the time to save space, and...

    Divorce at an older age

Just know that it has nothing to do with you, and that it's really their own problem. Be honest with your feelings...if one of them is acting like a jerk, tell him or her that. It's not a contest to see who is right or wrong; obviously this has been coming for a long time if it is a one sided...

    AC Temp setting

Keep it at a steady 75 day and night. Seems to provide just the right measure of cool and humidity control, which is most important during the Florida summers.

    Dishwasher film?

Actually, I have heard of it before, with similar accolades to what you expressed! So I just went online, searched, and ordered two boxes of it. I have bought from Bright Green Ideas before, and they're a reputable seller. For the stuff I put in my dishwasher, it's worth a try! So far...

    Dishwasher film?

Everyone....this product is available on www.brightgreenideas.com and is $4 cheaper per box, along with far, far cheaper shipping via FedEx. I got two boxed of it with 3 day FedEx shipping for $28. Far less than the eBay store wants at $48 for two boxes. They also have other AlmaWin products...

    Washing Rags from Waxing

I use Sears Laundry Detergent powder, spray n wash liquid laundry booster and some bleach on the normal cycle and add the saturated soak in the Calypso, and do the car and furntiture polishing rags altogether...and they come out perfect. Not a trace of grime remains.

    Miele Excella II

Malcolm, do you find the Miele cleans well when you double stack items, like say, a bowl over a cup on the top rack? Or when dishes in general just overlap each other on either rack? Some modern machines seem to have a problem with this!!

    Timers: Mallory vs Singer

KitchenAid used Mallory as a supplier for years. My 1989 22-series Superba used a Mallory rapid advance timer. Good timers, never a problem with any of mine.

Tried a new brand of dishwasher degergent.

I too used it here in Florida...very mixed results. Spotty glasses and utensils, just mediocre cleaning in some loads. Needed to use hi temp wash all the time. But it does smell nice!
