Hot wash There are a number of ways to do a hot wash. My domestic hot water is around 60 degrees Celsius. I usually fill up, add the powder, agitate for a minute to dissolve it, then add the clothes and heat to as hot as I wish. That way the clothes get the benefit of the stain removal benefits...

The Filter is underneath the agitator. It's a fixed one which you can see in the last frames of the video next to the heater element. It only really does anything when the pump is on but you can activate the pump whilst washing. And yes, it's me playing. I did that recording while practising...

Here's the video I promised of the new Servis Superheat in action on a hot wash this morning. I require no comments on the Marigold gloves. That water was over 90 degrees Celsius. The music was recorded earlier this year.

Thanks Paul I meant to say to Mike that I got it from Chester. It's been around that way for most of its life and still has a sticker on it from a company in Wrexham although that's this side of the border.

Thanks Mike That's interesting. It's a little later than I thought then. Didn't do the boil wash in the end. I was too tired and there isn't enough to wash at the moment. Perhaps I should have a look at the pipework first. It's at the back near the pump and I'm not sure how to get the carcass...

It's a.. Model 'M' Mk16 with a serial number of 239001. I'd guessed it at early sixties going by the colour although I thought they'd brought that out in the late fifties. Not sure though. I don't understand the Servis serial numbers.

It doesn't take long. I'm going to do a boil wash in it tonight and test out the heater. It's good for the rubber bits too. The good thing with these is that you can watch them working and check for leaks as you just open the door on the front and look underneath at the motor and pump, etc.
