    Whirlpool BD center post help

Hi everyone long time no see.... So here is the story. It's about the belt drive Whirlpool that I restored 4 years ago for which I spent so much money getting a new transmission for shipped to Italy, the new bearings and new seals installed etc. Basically what you may call a money pit washer...

GE Blender 2 Speed Blade Assembly needed

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I have the same issue. So will the Waring 003548 part do? Also, what's the correct belt in case mine breaks? Thanks in advance

Whirlpool direct drive research and development

This is how leaked oil looked like in my filter flo. Unlike BD Whirlpool transmissions that didn't have critical points for an oil leak the GE/Hotpoint FF, RF etc had one, the lower pulley oil seal, its failure would result in the tranny leaking all the oil in it, possibly almost emptying...

Whirlpool direct drive research and development

Probably an oil with a similar viscosity, but IIRC in filter flo was thinner. The smell of the original oil both in my filter Flo and Whirlpool was not strong and just "oily". The 90W gear oil I put had a stronger kind of petroleum smell. That's normal because mineral oil comes for that. I used...

Whirlpool direct drive research and development

I think the keyword in Whirlpool Direct Drive development was "simplification". Simplification means less production cost, less parts, and less parts than can fail less training for technicians (just think about that with old ones a stupid thing as a fried solenoid would not make the machine...

Whirlpool direct drive research and development

YouTube helps alot in these cases... Not sure if you already gave a look on there. Many tutorials of opened ones and neutral drain kits replacement. Inside they are all pretty easy to understand... I personally had a harder time understanding the external part of the old style ones...

Most & Least Effective Washing Machine Lint Filtration Systems.

Filter Flo and Whirlpool are great With older whirlpool filter being the winner IMHO. But with the filter Flo being a Little more convenient but Whirlpool being a lil more effective, and i will explain why. I will start with saying that even though I didn't try one myself I picture the earlier...

    Whirlpool gas dryer LP convertion

Also as we are at it I wanted to ask you a few questions about a possible transmission rebuild. Now that I am very familiar with the components I know exactly what happened the first time. Of course it got water in it but what failed first was the right cam bar, actually the pin, that rusted and...

    Whirlpool gas dryer LP convertion

Hi every body, finally after many troubles I managed to fix (at least now i hope so) my 1984 Whirlpool belt drive washer for which I thank everyone who helped me. So I decided to take out the (almost) matching dryer I had. Needs to be converted to LP. Will a normal conversion kit work for this...

    New products for laundry......

In the past there were not tablets but many powdered chlorine bleaches. Clorox offered that too. Way better measuring wise than tablets but of course needed to be put in moving agitating water or diluited and couldn't be automatically dispensed in machines with an automatic chlorine dispenser...

    Old dishwasher detergent, still sealed

The thing is also that I see a lot of people today pre rinsing if not directly pre washing stuff, this is because they do not obtain acceptable results otherwise and or find this is the best solution. This is also partially due to the fact many do not actually want to wait hours or they feel...

Early 90’s hotpoint rim flo problem

Maybe the knob is out of alignment. That happened with my Filter Flo.

    Old dishwasher detergent, still sealed

Chlorinated dishwasher detergents were the best not like the garbage sold today, it is also true dishwashers are not the same also. But I prefer much more chlorinated detergents, they do a much better job So did older dishwashers
