    2018 Regulations

"No manufacturer is required to make a washer that meets or exceeds energy star requirements. They can make one that does not, they just won't get 100+ dollars back from the government for each machine. Right? Manufactures opt into the program for the machines they produce." I'll try this...

    2018 Regulations

I think we have some confusion here. These are standards that ALL manufacturers of washing machines MUST meet. EnergyStar appliances must be 25% MORE efficient than the minimum standards published above. Only those washers that meet the E Star standards are eligible for a government rebate...

    KDTM384ESS - Dead!

"Have you been cleaning out the filter?" This unit uses a maintenance-free filtration system.

    Miele residential commercial dishwasher

Louis is correct. Those units he is referring to are "tank style" ware-washers that are 90 second cycle machines. Items loaded in those machines must be thoroughly prerinsed before loading in the machine. The ProfiLine units are "fresh water" machines that fill with fresh water, then drain for...

    Miele residential commercial dishwasher

"Doesn't it have any "auto 3 in 1" feature that prolongs cycle time when detergent tabs are used?" In the "menu" tab, there are additional cycles to choose from. There is a "normal" cycle on which the EnergyStar certification is based. It runs a couple of hours at very low temps so you might be...

    Miele residential commercial dishwasher

This is my first dishwasher with a built-in softner. For detergent, I've used Oci-clean power crystals, Finish, Cascade, even Wallyworld's house brand, and they all clean about the same. One caveat ... you can only use detergent powder as the cycles are too short for pods/packets to properly...

    Miele residential commercial dishwasher

The Pots/Pans cycle heats the water in the main wash to 167 degrees and clocks in around 48 minutes. It cleans baked on/encrusted crockery better than any dishwasher I've used previously.

    Miele residential commercial dishwasher

Petek, It's a 240 volt machine. The ProSpeed cycle time varies based on external conditions but it's usually around 19/20 minutes.

    Miele residential commercial dishwasher

I have one of these ProfiLine units (PG8080i) in my home. It was purchased in the fall of 2013 so they've been around awhile. They are indeed expensive but so worth it if you want clean dishes fast.

    ClubStumper© and today's question IS >>>>

Who Cares? I do. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. While I rarely post, I do read every day. And one thing I've noticed is that Bruce seems to be a very bitter person. So Bruce, this is directed to you: why are you here? If something is of no interest to you, perhaps you should scroll on by...

New owner of a 2015 Speed Queen TL washer!

While I'm a big fan of Speed Queen, they really missed the mark with their "spray rinse" design. As it appears that the tub leans to the right, the spray from the fill flume never comes into contact with the clothes, only the bottom of the tub. I'm thinking a redesign is in order. The flume...

Main Wash time comparisons between new vs. older dishwashers

Regarding short cycle times of vintage machines We must remember that enzyme based detergent is a relatively new phenomena. Back when automatic dishwashers were gaining in popularity, detergent for said dishwashers were full of phophates and sodium hypochlorite ( dry chlorine bleach ). To clean...

Main Wash time comparisons between new vs. older dishwashers

Andrew, I have a Miele Professional dishwasher. The Normal (Universal) cycle on mine takes about 30 minutes in total with no cycle alterations. Everything, including stuff with two-day old dried on food, comes out spotless. I never have to rewash anything. I use Oxiclean Extreme powder (full of...

    My Modern Dream Machine

Instead of complaining ad nauseam on this thread regarding what you did or did not get, contact someone who can actually help you. I believe that would be Maytag. Go to the website (link below), scroll to the bottom of the page and on the far right, there is a "contact us" link. Click on it and...

    Tappan Deluxe- Oven won't light

Tappan Deluxe I had a Tappan Deluxe in a previous residence. Great old stove by-the-way. I had the same problem you are having. It turned out to be a bad thermocouple. Easy to replace. Bought mine at Ace hardware for less than 10 bucks. Mark

MCM Lighting Ken, I haven't seen that exact style but if you are a bit flexible, the following link is a good source for atomic ranch/MCM lighting. http://www.hiphaven.com

    Bubble Bandit

Mich, Read the ingredient list. There is no mention of sodium hypochlorite. If it's in there, I believe it would have to say so on the label.

    Bubble Bandit

Bubble Bandit I had been using Bubble Bandit for several months and getting fairly good results. But I began to notice that coffee stains in the bottom of my white mugs were getting more pronounced. Looking at the "ingredient" list on the package, I realized there are no enzymes, no oxygen...

    Bubble Bandit dishwasher detergent

I use Bubble Bandit and I swear by it. I have a Miele Professional dishwasher and according to Miele, you can't use pods/tablets in it because the cycles are too short for them to dissolve properly. Everything comes out spotless.
